We recently had a week long admission for an extended EEG at our local children’s hospital!

These hand-altered t-shirts were game changers! My little guy resists hospital gowns and prefers his own clothes, but obviously can’t wear a single shirt for an entire week!

These shirts snap on and off so they can be changed as often as needed without disturbing IV lines, EEG wires, feeding tubes, etc.

He had the comfort of regular clothes, and when you’re stuck in the hospital it’s the little comforts that make the biggest difference!

How are you all doing?
It's been a while since I've posted and I thought I could start by sharing some of our story and why I created this page!

My son Garrett is 10. He was born happy and healthy in 2012 and for the first three years of his life we knew nothing was wrong.

In April 2016 he began to suddenly experience catastrophic seizures that quickly became life threatening. His Epilepsy could not be controlled and we still have no idea what causes it.

His EEGs show constant chaotic and abnormal brain activity and he has regressed significantly in development.

In 2020 he was diagnosed with Crohn's disease quickly followed by a severe oral aversion and then failure to thrive.

Between his debilitating seizures and prolonged recovery time and a serious digestive disorder he was starving to death.

In September 2021 he had a feeding tube placed and found myself on yet another new path.

Learning to be a medical mama has been tough - but incredible rewarding too.

I love to be creative and I find great benefits in taking time to sew and create.

And that's how MediMama Designs was created.

Soon there will be an etsy page created where I will have my full stock available! For now, feel free to reach out with any specific requests and I'll be happy to help!

Accessible shirts!

My son Garrett is an Epilepsy warrior, and part of that entails regular EEG testing.

Recently we found out he is being scheduled for an extended multi-day EEG and he would need button down clothes because nothing can go over the head while he's connected.

Garrett won't wear pyjamas or hospital clothes so I took some favorite shirts and altered them! They snap all the way open on one side and can easily be taken on or off.

Would also work beautifully with Ports and can easily be accessed for tube feeds!

Send me your favorite shirts and I'll alter them for $10!

Hi everybody!!

I'm working on a new item I'd like to add to my shop list and I'm looking for product testers!

I've got bibs for big kids on the table today and would love 3 families who want to try them for free! I'll send you 1 bib, which you can keep, and in return I just want your feedback!

I'm specifically looking for your thoughts on fit, size, shape and any constructive criticism you have!

Anybody interested? The ones I've got are designed with kids ages 5-10 in mind - so they're bigger than your standard baby/toddler bib!

This is the kiddo who inspires me to do things I never would have dreamed of before.

Garrett was diagnosed with Epilepsy at 3, and then Crohn's disease at 8. He received a g-tube when he was 9 and is now almost 10!

He is resilient and brave, he endures more than he should have to, and he is the reason I will always keep getting back up!

Medi-Mama Designs is about sharing the things that we have grown to love. Things that help make our medical day to day life a little easier and things that help spark joy in every day.
