Job Title: Patient Service Worker (PSW) and or RPN– OBS/GYN Clinics

Ottawa Medical Group is seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual to join our team and provide exceptional service to the patients in our OBS/GYN clinics.

Responsibilities:

Welcome and register patients in a friendly and professional manner
Verify the accuracy of patient information
Perform basic vital checks for OBS/GYN and family medicine patients
Review and document reports in the patient records
Maintain and update physician schedules
Manage messages and prioritize accordingly
Prepare and sterilize procedure kits
Assist with the preparation of vaccinations
Qualifications:

Canadian PSW Certificate and or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) / Nursing
Bilingual (English and French) with strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Creative, innovative, and enthusiastic with a positive, outgoing personality
Proficiency in EMR systems and basic computer applications
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

Qualifications:
Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, in both French and in English
High school or equivalency degree
Medical clinic experience
Ability to work with limited supervision
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to details
Reasonable computer proficiency – Outlook, EMR (PS Suite an asset)
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
Ability to maintain a professional, cheerful and calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment
Roles and Responsibilities
· Greet and register patients in a professional and courteous manner
· Receive telephone inquiries and process accordingly
· Establish and maintain confidential electronic medical records and ensure accurate demographic information
· Schedule and confirm appointments, and maintain physicians’ schedules
· Process patient invoices
· Manage messages and prioritize

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
It is important to schedule regular screening mammograms (breast x-rays) — which are available for women 40 years and older with no symptoms — to detect breast cancer early, usually before it has spread. The risk of breast cancer increases with age, especially for people who have a family history of the disease and those over the age of 50.
