Thank you Conny for all that you do with Seniors Solution! You are such a fantastic part our of our team!
I wanted to take a moment to provide you with some feedback about Conny and the difference she's made to the quality of my Mom's life.
As you know, Mom lives alone in an 'independent living suite' where she is socially isolated but for staff routine visits. I visit Mom regularly but travel frequently so I've come to rely on Conny's feedback and pictures to know Mom's health and well-being are assured in my absence. We have built a wonderful relationship and I have come to trust Conny's proven good judgement. That she truly cares about my Mom is demonstrated with each visit, and as I sometimes stop by on Conny days I've witnessed it first-hand. Conny rolls with the punches and when Mom is unkind to her Conny accepts that as the face of Alzheimer's instead of a personal affront.
Before I found Seniors Solution, Mom's daytime hours consisted of crossword puzzles, lying on her bed, sitting staring at nothing from her couch, and going down to the dining room for meals. She didn't want to make any effort to be with others and only rarely was I able to convince her to take a walk in the hall or go to the Pub downstairs for coffee. She complained a lot to me about being "bored" because there "is nothing to do" and upon occasion she would tell me how lonely she was. It broke my heart. Mom didn't have the wherewithal to initiate a lifestyle change on her own.
Enter Conny. Here's where we are today: On virtually every visit now Conny takes Mom - now eager to leave her suite - to exercise class or to the Pub where she readily joins other residents for coffee and conversation, a hot chocolate or coffee, and a bite. Mom participates in morning activities, usually Brain Games, that the Amica team host. With the warmer weather, Conny has also been taking Mom outside for some badly needed fresh air. Just today Conny reported that Mom was all ready to go downstairs when she arrived!
When I visit on days Conny isn't there and suggest we move to the Pub Mom now always responds eagerly and when we sit, others join us. On Conny days I find them already downstairs, sitting with other residents who are eager to chat. Such a change to the quality of Mom's life and as her daughter, a joy to witness.
I think it's important to recognize people for the consistently outstanding work they do. This is Conny. She's one in a million.
Thanks for everything Debbie,
