Gabe is in his third year of the B.Sc. Neuroscience and Biology program at Carleton University. He is interested in bioethics, medical ethics, medical law and neuroimaging. Currently, he is working on a project which aims to identify case law that has successfully or unsuccessfully utilized neuroimaging as evidence in court, or to produce medical and legal evidence for a diagnosis of an individual in question.

Fun fact: Gabe is blue-yellow colour blind!

Corrine is in her first year of the M.Sc. Neuroscience program at the University of Ottawa. Corrine is working under the supervision of Dr. Natalia Jaworska, and her thesis research aims to examine the efficacy of a 12-week exercise intervention for youth with depression. This study is using EEG and fMRI to clarify the effects of aerobic exercise on the structure and function of the brain and also examines its effects on psychosocial and cognitive functioning. Corrine is excited to be working on this study for her Masters and says that completing her undergraduate thesis in this laboratory really sparked her interest in pursuing mental health research with a focus on depression. To learn more about Corrine's research and other ongoing studies in the lab, check out the Clinical EEG & Neuroimaging Research Lab's website: https://eeglab-imhr.weebly.com/

Fun Fact: Corrine is also a Pandemic board game National Champion!

Tina Wang is a young researcher doing her PhD in Dr. Hongyu Sun’s lab at Carleton University. Her research focuses on early life epilepsy and how seizures can disrupt and reorganize the formation and function of different neuronal circuits during the critical developmental period. She uses techniques such as immunohistochemistry, PCR, whole cell patch clamp electrophysiology, and a variety of imaging techniques.

Fun Fact: Tina also enjoys painting, volleyball, and swimming. She enjoys travelling, and has recently even visited Costa Rica and Miami.

Dylan Franklin is a second year student in the PhD Experimental Psychology program at the University of Ottawa. Dylan is a young researcher working under the supervision of Dr. Jason Steffener, and is looking at the connections between mental health and working memory. For his thesis he is using structural and functional neuroimaging to better understand the associations between mental health (emotions, depression, and loneliness) and working memory, both in younger and older adults. To find out more about Dylan's research check out the Neural Cognitive Mapping lab website: http://ncmlab.github.io/

Fun Fact: Outside of his research, Dylan is adventurous and has been on the longest zip line over water in the world.
