ABC Pediatric Therapies is an established multidisciplinary and bilingual speech therapy clinic in the heart of Orleans.

Two Therapists, One Vision!

Sharon and Anick, Speech-Language Pathologists founded ABC Pediatric Therapies Inc. in Ottawa's East end after years of experience working in a variety of pediatric settings. Through conversations with parents, doctors, and other community providers, they saw a unique opportunity to bring together a multidisciplinary team of professionals under one roof in order to help serve the Orleans, and surrounding communities, through fun, engaging and evidence-based child and youth development services.

Registrations for Babble Buddies Circle Time (0-12 Months) and Beyond Babble Buddies (12-24 Months) are now open!

💛 BB 0-12 Months : Wednesdays at 1:00pm

💖 Beyond Babble Buddies 12-24 Months: Fridays at 9:45am

💛 Babble 0-12 Months: Fridays at 11:15am

BB and BBB are speech‑language pathology designed programs to help infants and toddlers grow strong communication and language skills in a fun, interactive, and supportive environment.

💛 Babble Buddies (0–12 months):
✨ Songs, finger play, story time & movement to encourages babbling, gestures, and early social interaction.

💖 Beyond Babble Buddies (12–24 months):
✨ Play-based themed activities to expands first words & early sentences, help build social communication, turn-taking, and play skills

Parents learn in both groups easy ways to support these at home ✨

Let the giggles, songs, and first words begin! 👶🎶

🌙👧 Is Your Child Showing Signs of Tongue Thrust While Sleeping? 👧🌙

Parents, did you know that tongue thrust isn’t just noticed when your child is awake!? Early detection during sleep can help prevent speech, swallowing and dental issues later on.

Watch for these signs while your child is sleeping:

💤 Mouth breathing – sleeping with mouth open instead of through the nose

👅 Low or forward tongue posture – tongue not resting on the roof of the mouth

💦 Drooling – saliva escaping due to tongue position

😴 Snoring or noisy breathing – may signal airway or posture issues

🦷 Teeth grinding – related to tongue posture or dental alignment

Le bégaiement chez les jeunes enfants - ce qu’il faut savoir 💡

✅ 70-80 % des enfants verront leurs dysfluidités diminuer spontanément, sans aucune prise en charge

✅ environ 20 à 30 % présenteront un bégaiement persistant qui nécessitera une intervention orthophonique

✅ une évaluation et une prise en charge précoces augmentent significativement les chances de récupération, car le cerveau des jeunes enfants est plus malléable et réceptif aux changements (neuroplasticité), et ce surtout avant l’âge de six ans

👉 antécédents familiaux

👉 plus fréquent chez les garçons
