🌱 Celebrating Public Health Week! 🌱

During National Public Health Week, we’re proud to highlight the impact of the Healthy Babies Healthy Children Program and similar programs that support families from pregnancy through early childhood.

These important programs connects families with public health nurses and home visitors to promote:
🤱 Healthy pregnancies and births
👶 Positive parenting and child development
🏡 Safe, nurturing home environments
💬 Early identification of supports and resources

By empowering families early, we help build stronger communities and healthier futures for children across Ontario.

💚 Public health starts at the very beginning—and every family deserves the support to thrive.

Happy International Women's Day, from CAPWHN!

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is “Give to Gain.”

This campaign reminds us that generosity fuels progress. Whenever we give our time, knowledge, mentorship, advocacy, education, or resources, we help forge gender equality through abundant giving.

In women’s health and neonatal nursing, we see this every day:

💜 When we share knowledge, we strengthen care.
💜 When we mentor, we build confident future leaders.
💜 When we advocate, we improve outcomes for women and newborns.
💜 When we support one another, we multiply impact.

As nurses, educators, researchers, and leaders in women’s and neonatal health, CAPWHN is committed to advancing equity, amplifying voices, and creating spaces where all women can succeed.

This International Women’s Day, we ask: What will you Give to Gain?

📣 Participate in a Research Study on Cannabis Use in Pregnancy

Canadian healthcare providers are invited to take part in a short 20-minute online survey exploring knowledge and beliefs about cannabis use during pregnancy.

As cannabis use in pregnancy becomes more common, there is still limited understanding of how healthcare providers approach this topic, what information they rely on, and how confident they feel discussing it with patients.

Your participation will help address important knowledge gaps in Canada and support the development of compassionate, consistent, evidence-based care for pregnant patients.

🎁 Participants will have the option to enter a draw to win one of five $50 gift certificates.

Webinaire : Combler les lacunes – Ressources et stratégies de mobilisation des connaissances en santé environnementale pour les soins prénatals/préconceptionnels
4 mars 2026 | 12 h à 13 h (HE)

· Present findings from a national scan of environmental health education resources in Canada
· Highlight tools currently in development to support frontline care
· Explore CPCHE’s Top Tips for healthy home environments (plus a new suite of backgrounders)
· Introduce CANE’s Perinatal Planetary Health Assessment Tool (PeriPHAT)
· Share an inspiring initiative addressing mercury contamination while supporting reliance on country foods

The session will include panel discussion and space for participants to share resources and examples from their own work.
