It’s never “just” about the food.
It’s about emotion. Sense of self. Experiences. Safety.

And it’s our job to slow it down.
To ask the right questions.
To build trust and get to know what our individual clients need.

In ED for RDs: Esssentials, we help you learn how to build exposure plans that support, not scare your clients.

And address who could benefit, and whom it could be unsafe for.

We move step by step. And we show you how to walk beside them.

Join this cohort and get equipped with strategies to support your clients today!! 🥰🥰

As dietitians, it can be tough when we don’t see quick results. We might feel like we’re not making progress. But in reality, even small steps forward are monumental.

▪️Sometimes it’s about being present, listening without judgment, and creating a safe space for our clients to just be.

▪️Sometimes, it’s helping them hold onto their values, even when their eating disorder says otherwise.

▪️Sometimes, it’s just being there, showing up for them when they can’t show up for themselves.

It’s easy to get discouraged when traditional markers of progress, like weight or mood improvement, don’t show right away. But remember, the work you’re doing is bigger than just the numbers.

In every session, you’re planting seeds for healing even if you can’t see them growing just yet. 🌱

Keep showing up with compassion and patience. Progress is happening, even in the quietest moments.

As dietitians, we often feel pressure to “fix” the problem right away especially when our clients are struggling.

In reality, recovery is a long journey, and sometimes, the small, non-traditional wins are the most significant.

▪️Maybe it’s just showing up.
▪️Maybe it’s making eye contact.
▪️Maybe it’s resisting the urge to fall into old patterns.

These moments matter.

They are the quiet victories that pave the way for healing.

It’s easy to feel like we’re not getting anywhere when we’re not seeing immediate changes, but your support and your presence mean more than you know. 🌱

Progress isn’t always dramatic, but it’s still progress.

And your work is never wasted.

You’re doing incredible, compassionate work.

As dietitians, we’re often the first line of defense when it comes to spotting eating disorders.

But sometimes, the signs aren’t as obvious.

If you’re seeing clients for things like growth disturbances, GI complaints, weight management, or even appearance concerns, there may be an underlying issue with disordered eating.

Eating disorders can affect anyone, regardless of gender, age, or culture. We need to stay vigilant and be aware of the subtle signs, because catching them early can make a huge difference in someone’s journey to recovery.

I’m hosting a FREE webinar today called “Surprise! Your Client Has an Eating Disorder” and I would love for you to join!

As dietitians, we often face the challenge of feeling underprepared when it comes to identifying and treating eating disorders.

Many of us received minimal training in university, leaving us unsure of how to approach or recognize red flags.

Sound familiar? 👀

The truth is, we don’t know what we don’t know. And when we’re unsure, it’s hard to feel confident in providing the care our clients need.

I’m here to tell you, you’re not alone. 💕

The more we learn, the more equipped we become to make a real difference. If you’ve ever felt lost or unsure of how to approach eating disorder care, you’re in the right place.

Together, we can build the skills and confidence needed to support those who need us most.

I’m thrilled to invite you to my FREE webinar:  “Surprise! Your Client Has an Eating Disorder”

Friday, March 21st, 2025 from 12:00 pm EST - 1:00 pm EST on Zoom.

As dietitians, we often find ourselves feeling underprepared when it comes to supporting those with eating disorders.

We’re given a diagnosis but not always the tools to truly help.

The thing is we can make a difference.

With the right training, guidance, and supervision, we can build the confidence needed to provide meaningful support, especially when there’s no one else to refer to.

We can’t just “refer out”, we need to show up for those who need us the most.

This is why I’m inviting you to join my FREE webinar “Surprise! Your Client Has an Eating Disorder”.

▪️Date: Friday, March 21st, 2025

Eating disorders are not a new issue, but they are becoming more common. 💔

From their first recognition in the 13th century to the present day, eating disorders have affected countless lives.

Today, statistics show that 9% of people in the US will develop an eating disorder in their lifetime but the numbers don’t tell the full story.

So many people live with the shame and guilt of disordered eating, struggling in silence and facing barriers to accessing care.

As dietitians, we are in a unique position to make A REAL DIFFERENCE.

But studies show that many of us feel underprepared when it comes to supporting clients with eating disorders.

It’s so important that we continue to educate ourselves and build confidence in how we help those in need.

Together, we can change the narrative and support better access to care for all.

Join me for a FREE Webinar where I walk you through how to identify the clues you’ve been missing, the myths that keep clients from getting help, and tips on how to navigate tough conversations.

I took my two boys out for supper tonight, and at the bottom of the kids menu, it said something about how kids older than 13 require a predetermined number calories.

Growing up with an EDRD as a mom, he totally gets that everyone has different nutrition needs and wants. And that we don’t eat calories, we eat food!

He wanted to make sure other people didn’t miss out on the message!
