Happy 50th anniversary, Eurythmy Spring Valley!

ESV was founded in 1972, but its origins go back more than a century, to the time when Rudolf Steiner was inspiring people from all over the world with his innovative and future-oriented insights into every aspect of human culture. His expressive and healing vision for human movement, music, speech, and lighting emerged in 1912 in the new art form of eurythmy.

Joan Sleigh in her talk on the four social senses helped me to realize that the activity of devotion is in the hearing (listening to the other/empathy/be devoted to the other), and the activity of loving is in the speaking (so the other can hear/let the other in). And in eurythmy the act of "hearing" and "speaking" is one. The act of "devotion" and "loving" is what makes eurythmy movement, the visible speaking and singing.

Each time when something brings me further understanding about eurythmy, it confirms to my first impression: I feel COMPLETELY human in this movement! Who else would not want to do this eurythmy!
