Three days of learning, connection, and shared vision.

Grateful to host the leadership of Points of Light here in Toronto and to end the visit with an incredible Sector Leadership Roundtable hosted by Phil Haid and the team at Public Inc.

With Senator Farah Mohamed opening the day, leaders from across the business, philanthropy, Indigenous, and nonprofit sectors came together to discuss civic trust, belonging, and the role of volunteering as civic infrastructure.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to those helping shape what comes next.

We’re thrilled to welcome the Points of Light leadership team to Toronto for three days of learning, collaboration, and shared visioning with Volunteer Canada.

Yesterday brought meaningful conversations with our team and board members, celebrating what’s possible when national and global leaders in volunteerism come together.

Volunteering builds resilient communities, yet participation is declining.

In 2024, Canadians contributed 4.1 billion volunteer hours, the equivalent of 2.4 million full-time jobs (Statistics Canada, 2025). But even as volunteers give more, organizations are struggling to keep up.

According to Volunteer Canada’s National Volunteer Action Strategy (NVAS) Survey, 83% of nonprofits reported increased demand for services last year. This growing gap between capacity and community need raises a critical question: how do we sustain volunteerism for the future?

Our new report explores what’s driving these shifts and how communities can adapt through flexible roles, mentorship, and inclusive engagement strategies.

UPS employees in Vancouver, British Columbia, came together yesterday to assemble and distribute over 500 hygiene kits with M.O.S.A.I.C., supporting newcomers and families in their local community.

Each kit provides more than essentials; it represents care, belonging, and connection for those starting new chapters in Canada. Through volunteering initiatives like this, UPS Canada employees are helping build stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities across the country.

We’re proud to support TD Canada employees who volunteered this Tuesday, November 4, at Food Stash Foundation in Vancouver!

In an afternoon of food boxing, volunteers helped prevent good food from going to waste and ensured it reached community members who need it most. This hands-on work supports Food Stash’s vision for a just and sustainable food system, one that strengthens community health and protects our planet.

//
