Day 5: it’s the final night walk for 25 minutes. How far did you get on this loop?! We managed to catch some tired looking Christmas characters tonight. I hope you’ve enjoyed this wee challenge. Stay tuned for more night walking fun in the New Year!

Night walk #4 is for 20 minutes. It’s a full moon tonight, so do get out for a stroll as the energy is quite something. It’s also the night I became a Mother! My son turned 10 today. It’s all very fitting for me and my stroll with the kiddos tonight reaffirmed how much we love being outside together. We have the best conversations while aimlessly wandering. Can anyone else relate?

Holiday Night walker challenge begins tonight! I'm so grateful for the bit of snow that blankets the ground as it just makes everything more magical. Wait until its dark, grab your family, dress warm and head outside for a quick 5 minutes stroll around your neighbourhood.

Holiday Night Walkers unite for a 5 day family challenge!

Let’s move together through the holiday season. It's time to reignite your senses and enjoy the gifts that mother nature has to offer in the winter.

Starting tomorrow, December 26th, join us for our Night Walking Challenge. Over 5 days, we will increase our walking time by 5 minutes so by day 5, you'll enjoy a 25 minute walk.

The 5 Day Holiday Night Walker Challenge:

December 26th- 5 minute walk
December 27th- 10 minute walk
December 28th- 15 minute walk
December 29th- 20 minute walk
December 30th- 25 minute walk

Make you walk more enjoyable for the whole family by finding and taking pictures of holiday decorations such as:

➔ Lights framing a house
➔ Inflatable holiday creature
➔ Inflatable Santa
➔ Lights on bushes
➔ Lights on a tree
➔ Hanging icicle lights
➔ Lite up stars
➔ Lite up reindeer
➔ Lite up wreath
➔ Lite up snowflakes

If you post pictures on our page from at least 4 walks, you'll be entered into our draw for a Night Walker Prize Pack (to outfit yourself for warm, safe and enjoyable night walking).

The Winner will be announced on January 2nd, 2020 (prize pack to be picked up at Docere Naturopathic Clinic).

The goal is just to be outside and walking, simply and in whatever way suits your family. If you want extras, tune into your senses and see what comes up during the walk. Maybe your family picks a different sense to focus on each night. Night smells might include the crisp air, wood burning fireplaces or pine trees. Sight will be the holiday lights of course, but also watch for shadows dancing in the moonlight. Taste the snow, if there is any, or bring a candy cane along for the walk. Touch the snow, make a snowball or pick up a nature piece and feel it in your hands. Sounds of the holidays are all around you and if you listen closely you might hear bells :)

Please dress for the weather and have fun!
Remember to snap pictures along the way
At the end of the challenge, make a collage of your 5 pictures and keep it as a family memory for 2020!

My go-to afternoon snack these days!

Coconut yogurt, berries, a whooooole tbsp. of peanut butter and some low-sugar granola

I love it when people tell me, is that what you have for an afternoon snack? That’s a LOT of food! And yes, I typically eat a nice fatty, protein-rich snack around 4-5pm. Helps me stay sharp & energized throughout my evening work and full until dinner time, which for me that’s around 7:30-8pm

This is literally my secret weapon 😎 to avoid late night cravings and prevent me from eating all the things when I get home after a long day of work 🙄
