The Child, Adolescent, and Family Centre of Ottawa - CAFCO

The Child, Adolescent, and Family Centre of Ottawa - CAFCO A multidisciplinary and bilingual mental health clinic for Ottawa's youth.

The Child, Adolescent, and Family Centre of Ottawa (CAFCO) is a bilingual and multidisciplinary group of professionals dedicated to providing a range of health care services for Ottawa families, with a primary focus on mental health. We offer personalised and professional care, with the goal of helping children, adolescents, and their families to develop healthy and fulfilling relationships, groun

ded in the principles of dignity and respect. Due to the collaborative and multidisciplinary nature of our group, we are able to offer our clients unparalleled access to a wide range of therapeutic options. CAFCO was created to respond to a number of needs that, though working in the field and consulting with various groups, its founders identified as existing within the Ottawa area. Our main goals are to be able to offer services in a very timely manner (we return all calls within 48 hours and an appointment is usually offered within a week), with a focus on research-based approaches to treatment. We are also committed to providing services to families in a very warm environment that is non-institutional and as home-like as possible.

Understanding assessment results can be challenging🧠

The Brain Building Book by Dr. Liz Angoff is an interactive workbook designed for children and teens to help them better understand their neuropsychological or cognitive assessment results in a positive and empowering way. 📘

Through engaging activities and simple explanations, the book helps youth explore their unique learning style, strengths, and challenges, turning complex testing results into something meaningful and accessible. Rather than focusing only on difficulties, it encourages a strengths-based understanding of how their brain works. ✨

It can also help parents continue these important conversations at home, providing families with tools and language to talk about learning differences in a supportive way. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

The Brain Building Book is available for purchase at our clinic for $20. 💰
We accept cash or e-transfer.

Available in English and French 🇨🇦 Simply visit our Admin Office to pick up a copy. 📍
