The Child, Adolescent, and Family Centre of Ottawa (CAFCO) is a bilingual and multidisciplinary group of professionals dedicated to providing a range of health care services for Ottawa families, with a primary focus on mental health. We offer personalised and professional care, with the goal of helping children, adolescents, and their families to develop healthy and fulfilling relationships, groun

ded in the principles of dignity and respect. Due to the collaborative and multidisciplinary nature of our group, we are able to offer our clients unparalleled access to a wide range of therapeutic options. CAFCO was created to respond to a number of needs that, though working in the field and consulting with various groups, its founders identified as existing within the Ottawa area. Our main goals are to be able to offer services in a very timely manner (we return all calls within 48 hours and an appointment is usually offered within a week), with a focus on research-based approaches to treatment. We are also committed to providing services to families in a very warm environment that is non-institutional and as home-like as possible.

It is with mixed emotions that we announce Dr. Caroline Sullivan, Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Child, Adolescent, and Family Centre of Ottawa (CAFCO), is retiring from her position as Director. After many years of dedicated service, Dr. Sullivan will be retiring from her leadership role, but we are pleased to share that she will continue to work with us as a psychologist, providing her invaluable expertise and support to the families who need it most.

Dr. Sullivan’s contributions to CAFCO and the community have been immeasurable. Her compassion, leadership, and commitment to helping children, adolescents, and families through mental health challenges have been a driving force behind everything we do. While we will miss her in her Director role, we are excited that she will remain part of our team, continuing to make a difference in the lives of so many.

Please join us in expressing our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sullivan for her incredible work, and in wishing her all the best in her well earned retirement. Thank you for everything, Dr. Sullivan , your impact will be felt for years to come.

Yehudis is a Registered Nurse and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and a trained art therapist (thesis pending). She provides virtual services to children, adolescents, and caregivers. Yehudis is experienced in supporting those struggling with complex concerns, including emotional dysregulation, dissociation, selective mutism, attachment struggles, self-harm, severe eating disorders, and other issues related to complex developmental trauma. She also has an interest in working with those struggling with chronic medical concerns, grief and loss, and high-performance artists and athletes.

Using a gentle, empathetic, and thoughtful approach, Yehudis engages young people and their families with compassionate curiosity. Through many years of working with children, youth, and families facing tough challenges, Yehudis has gained a deep understanding of complex mental health needs. She integrates her professional experience as well as relevant scientific evidence to implement individualized services and support for clients. Yehudis is trained in a variety of modalities, including dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), the neurosequential model of therapeutics (NMT), art therapy approaches, and internal family systems (IFS) therapy.
