Racing games, balloon pops, and hockey are all games inside the Happiness Projector Program designed to help seniors have the best cognitive and physical exercises. Oakpark loves this program, from group activities to individual games. Karaoke, old-time radio programs, and much more. We use this projector at least twice a day, if not more. Why not come try and games out someday.

We had so much fun today getting our hands dirty and clean well making homemade soap. It was quite the clean mess we made. One of the residents who came told us how her grandfather ran a soap making factory in Maine. What a nice way to remember a grandfather.

Savoring the small moments and the tiniest, juiciest bursts of joy. Today's flavor: unmistakably blueberry. 💦🫐
Our Blueberry lemon social was a success. Our kitchen treated us to blueberry tarts, honey lemon chicken balls, blueberry turnovers, lemongarlic shrimp, local wild blueberries, lemon sugar cookies and our Activity Manager made a wild blueberry lemonade to go with our on blueberry hill concert by Malcolm Wade.

Last night the activity room became a Indian restaurant complete with waitstaff in traditional Indian from a beautiful silk Sari to a Kurti dress shirt. The centre pieces were direct from India, with each piece having special meaning for our Food Service Manager Meenaal. Who also cooked the most amazing dinner of butter chicken, chickpea curry, basmati rice with almonds and raisins, and a paneer mixed vegetable in a yogurt peanut curry.
The appetizer was an onion Bhaji and a fresh mint chutney. For dessert we had
The special drink was a classic Mango Lassi.
Last night was also a special night for one resident who celebrated his birthday with family well celebrating his culture. In his words the food was just like he had back home in Indian and better than at any restaurant he's been to.

Neither heat🔥, or rain🌧 or humidity can stop Oakpark from cooking up a terrific BBQ feast. Even Marty Carr, the Alta Vista Ward Councilor, stopped by to talk with the residents and get to see firsthand what Oakpark has to offer the wonderful seniors in her ward.

We enjoyed delicious Jumbo hot dogs🌭, fresh juicy straight off the BBQ hamburgers 🍔 with only the best toppings.
Old friends, new faces and family all joined together for this special feast.

When Max the Therapy dog comes to visit Oakpark, everyone gets a little smile on their face. Dogs make the best of friends. We love Max's gentleness and his kindness. He is always so excited when he gets to Oakpark as well.
