Is chiropractic care recommended for babies?

Seeing a chiropractor at a young age—particularly within the first two years of life—is especially important since a child will experience the most physical and neurological growth during that time period.

In fact, the spine will develop its primary and secondary spinal curvatures in the first year of life, which in turn will have an effect on future bone growth and function, and the spine itself will experience its greatest growth by age two.

An infant or young child could benefit from chiropractic care if:
→ Torticollis or a noticeable head preference (tendency for the baby to either tilt or turn their head to one side);
→ Restricted movement of the head or neck;
→ Overarching of the back when laying down;
→ Difficulty nursing on one side;
→ …And more

Visit our website to learn more if your child could benefit from chiropractic care.

Day 2- changes holding. Open mouth breathing at night improving, tissue under the chin higher and tighter. I have had 2 different people tell me I speak differently and numerous therapist identify changes in my mandible line. ROM and Myofunctional exercises are key to maintaining thw changes. If you don’t do your homework, the release won’ t hold and re-attachment is a risk. While it is mildly painful to do the exercises, it is key to keeping up the progress. , , , ,

Day 1 Pics with Before and After. The biggest change is where my jaw (mandible) sits while at rest. My lower teeth use to sit back a bit behind my upper teeth. Now when at rest, I feel my teeth meeting in the front. This will not happen with eating as my molars/bite will return to their best contact points, but it's quite nice when not eating. My jaw feels more relaxed and my tongue is starting to float up more to the roof of my mouth in a better resting state.

My extension is better and my tongue isn't nearly as "Pointy", My wound is a traditional diamond shape and is only mildly sensitive.

Here are some initial and immediately post pics of my Tongue tie release. Immediately after Dr. John Fayad had finished with the laser I could feel approximately 25% improvement in range of motion. I also felt my jaw realigning and moving forward with Less pull And my resting tongue position has already started to shift..

My plan is to move ahead with specific myofunctional exercises for my tongue’s range of motion and function. As well as additional fascial work through the cranium and facial bones and neck to assist in realigning my structures into a more optimal position.

I cannot say enough about Dr. John Fayad and his team at Chapman Mills dental in Barrhaven. We have been sharing clients for years and it was awesome to experience his skill and expertise first hand.

I’m going to try to post pictures every few days to see the changes that are happening, they could be mild or they could be great. I’m already happy with what has changed in three hours so I’m quite optimistic with a little bit of work.
