Elim provides counselling for a wide range of mental health issues and other challenges. The services are provided by therapists who hold at least a master’s degree in counselling and have been certified by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association or other equivalent professional body. Elim Counselling is verified by Psychology Today as offering qualified psychological services in Ottawa.

Do you constantly find yourself thinking about work, even during downtime?

A study published in the “Journal of Occupational Health Psychology” found that workaholism is linked to poor well-being. Specifically, researchers discovered that workaholics experience higher levels of stress, burnout, and anxiety compared to non-workaholics. The study concluded that the constant drive to work, without adequate rest or recovery, can lead to significant mental and physical health issues. Prioritizing balance is crucial for maintaining overall well-being. Here are 3 solutions if you’re noticing the signs of being a workaholic:

1. Set Clear Boundaries: Define when work starts and ends each day, and stick to it.

2. Prioritize Downtime: Make time for hobbies, relaxation, and activities that bring you joy.

3. Unplug Regularly: Disconnect from work-related devices and notifications to recharge.
