Baby Massage + Baby Sign Language + Story Massage
I am a fully qualified Baby Massage & Baby Sign Language instructor and have trained with Knotstressed, who are fully accredited, well respected and based in the UK.
Mellow Baby’s Classes are all about communication and bonding. Initially, with the Baby Massage it starts with touch and voice, and then with the Sign Language, parents progress to sound as well as visual cues.
The classes are set-up to be fun and easy, with social time build in to the hour. They are a great way to meet other parents in a relaxed, informal environment, where your wee ones can enjoy the company of other babies. The babies love all the songs, rhymes and sensory materials and toys.
Baby Massage - Before babies can understand language, we often communicate and comfort them through touch. If a baby cries, for example, parents will hold, cuddle or stroke them. Baby massage is part of this natural impulse.
Baby massage can increase a parent’s awareness of baby’s needs, increases their confidence with baby-handling and supports the vital early bond. The course also helps to stimulate sensory development and improve sleep patterns in your baby, helps to relieve gas and colic, plus gives you new ways to have fun and connect with your little one.
The wonderful Mellow Baby course is a gentle combination of baby massage, baby yoga, sensory stimulation, shiatsu, relaxation and singing. Every week, we sing our way through some fabulous yoga stretches and massage strokes, discover useful shiatsu points for baby ailments and soothe the little ones with a lullaby. Baby Massage is suitable from birth onwards. However, it is best suited to pre-crawling babies.
Baby Sign-language - Understanding your baby's gestures can improve communication. Baby Sign-language with Mellow baby helps parents to learn signs, associated with key words, in the proper context. This encourages parents to speak more empathetically, with greater variations in pitch, and with greater emotion. Research suggests that this sing-song style of speaking, called infant-directed speech, has a greater effect on the part of the baby’s brain processing auditory sounds than normal adult speech. People using infant-directed speech also tend to repeat their words giving babies extra opportunities to listen and learn.

Baby Signing is suitable once your wee one can sit up on their own and they are starting to seek out interactions with you.
