We’re honoured to once again take part in Trees of Hope CHEO Fundraiser at the Fairmont Château Laurier. This year’s theme, “’Twas the Night the night before Christmas,” is inspired by the magic of Christmases past — the kind filled with candlelit glow, handmade treasures, and memories that linger softly through the years.
In our retirement community, the holidays are more than decorations; they’re a return to cherished traditions. Our residents remember well the excitement of trimming the tree, the scent of oranges and cookies in the air, and the wonder of waking to signs that Christmas magic had visited overnight. Those memories are woven into every detail of our tree.
Hand-knit snowflakes, dried orange slices, painted pinecones, quilted stars, and velvet ribbons each tell a story of craft, care, and generations of holiday traditions. But the heart of our tree lies tucked among the branches: handwritten memories of Christmas Past, lovingly shared by our residents. Together, these notes form a living poem — a reminder that the most meaningful gifts are the stories we pass on.
Cheer on our tree in the People’s Choice Awards! ✨ Voting is open until January 6, 2026. Cast your vote at https://treesofhope.ca/
And if you’re visiting the Château Laurier this season, we hope our tree invites you to pause and feel that warm, familiar magic — like stepping into a Christmas parlor from long ago. ❤️🎄
