Silver Spring Studio celebrated a wonderful gift received from a very generous family!

Harpreet, Kawal and Ana Kochhar donated funds to have our art storage cupboard fitted out with floor to ceiling cabinets to help relieve our storage issues!

The cabinets were installed by Yvan Lafrance who donated his time and expertise to the project. A one man job done to absolute perfection!

Ian Ferguson assisted by adding the shelves and staff Melanie and Bridgid (and many volunteers) have been busy organizing, sorting and restocking our supply room.

Our sign was painted by our Artist Educator Lisa Solonyko.

Kochhar’s Kupboard is a welcomed relief to our program. The generosity of all persons who helped with this project is greatly appreciated!

We celebrated during an evening get together on Tuesday when we held our Grand Opening which was attended by members of OCAPDD’s Board of Directors, our Senior Director of Supports and Services and our Studio’s Director.

Being a part of the communities we we serve and getting to know it's members, is a core value of the OPP. On March 27th, members of the Ottawa OPP, OPP Auxiliary and OPP Cadet took part in the Arts Showcase for Down Syndrome. Members of the Down Syndrome Association organized the event to promote and sell their art. The event, which was hosted by Silver Spring Studio, provides a creative space for ALL and organized arts and cooking classes. Our members were proud to attend and show support for members of this community.

L’engagement envers les communautés que nous servons et la connaissance de leurs membres sont des valeurs fondamentales de la Police provinciale de l’Ontario (OPP). Le 27 mars, des membres de la OPP d’Ottawa, de l’Auxiliaire de la OPP et des Cadets de la OPP ont participé à la Vitrine des arts pour la trisomie 21. Organisé par l’Association de la trisomie 21, cet événement visait à promouvoir et à vendre les œuvres des artistes. Accueilli par le Studio Silver Spring, il offrait un espace créatif ouvert à tous et proposait des ateliers d’art et de cuisine. Nos membres étaient fiers d’y participer et de témoigner leur soutien à la communauté.
