Ottawa College of Homeopathy

Ottawa College of Homeopathy The Ottawa College of Homeopathy was founded by Dr. Shahram Ayoubzadeh, MD, ND, in 1999 under the name Canadian Homeopathic Institute. Dr. S.

Since then, we have been inspiring students and helping to train dedicated homeopaths. The Canadian Homeopathic Institute (CHI) was founded in 1999 by Shahram Ayoubzadeh, MD, ND, Hom, FIACA. He is also the Founder and Clinical Director of the Integral Health Clinic, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (www.integralhealthclinic.com). Ayoubzadeh is a trained Medical Doctor, Homeopathic Practitioner and Naturopathic Doctor. His extensive medical training and decades of clinical practice have lead him on a rich, rewarding journey as a health professional with a focus on alternative treatment specializing in Homeopathy. To Dr. Ayoubzadeh’s patients and colleagues, it is clearly evident that his career is both a profession and a life-long passion to help improve the health and wellness of adults and children, alike, allowing them to live more fulfilling and fruitful lives. Over the years, Shahram has been concerned :

- First, by the lack of access to professional Homeopaths within Canada due to the relatively small pool of experinced professional homeopaths, compared to Europe, for example.

- Second, by the lack of comprehensive homeopathic training focused on Classical Homeopathy, and the lack of concentration of learning based on ‘cured’ case studies and in-class live case analysis. Profound and exciting results have been witnessed by Dr. Ayoubzadeh along with thousands of Professional Homeopaths worldwide using classical homeopathy.. It is through extensive examination of these results that provide students with a wealth of knowledge of clinical homeoapthy and hands-on practice, in addition to the theory of homeopathy. To help address this reality, Shahram founded the Canadian Homeopathic Institute (CHI). CHI offers 3-year courses in Homeopathy

If you are already a health practitionner, enrich your knowledge in the health field and compliment your health practice with a solid understanding and practice of homeopathy, or consider becoming a certified professional Homeopath within the province of Ontario. Join Dr. Ayoubzadeh and his colleagues on this fascinating exploration of homeopathy through the study of theory, principles, practice and hands-on learning!!

"The claim that homeopathy is implausible is not a scientific argument; it is no more than a belief. And science is interested in facts, not beliefs.

Since homeopathy is based solely on experimentation, and not on a priori reasoning, the first duty of the scientific mind in an investigation of homeopathy would be to examine, fairly and fully, its empirical evidence, which consists of a huge amount of experimental, epidemiological and clinical data accumulated over the last two hundred years.

To refuse to examine that evidence because it contradicts one’s understanding of the laws of nature is to claim that all the laws that govern our world have been discovered and fully explained. In fact, it is to reject the scientific method."

via BHA: The first systematic review was published in 1991. From its 105 trials with interpretable results, 81 indicated positive results, which included RCTs that received high quality ratings for randomisation, blinding, sample size, and other methodological criteria. The authors came to the conclusions: “Based on this evidence we would be ready to accept that homoeopathy can be efficacious, if only the mechanism of action were more plausible” and “the evidence presented in this review would probably be sufficient for establishing homoeopathy as a regular treatment for certain indications”.https://buff.ly/2sqh6M9

Sometimes it's easy to forget the scale of homeopathy. This Cuban trial, born from necessity with no time to produce a conventional vaccine and administered homeopathic medicines to 2.2 million people is a good reminder.

It was also the catalyst behind the film being created as homeopath Ananda More was so shocked that the world wasn't aware of it. Had it been a conventional medical drug it would have made news everywhere, however the bias against homeopathy meant that journals who had previously published work from The Finlay Institute in Cuba, refused to publish this. Ananda felt the world should know and went on to dedicate the next 7 years to making and now distributing the film.

In 2010, the NHMRC made the decision to review the effectiveness of homeopathy with an external contractor, Australian University.

A first report, one that allowed for reporting of positive research on homeopathy, was buried in 2012, even after one of NHMRC's own experts, Professor Fred Mendelsohn, stated "a lot of excellent work has gone into this review and the results are presented in a systematic, unbiased and convincing manner."

Instead, the NHMRC started a new review, but this time research protocols were manipulated. The council claimed that the first report was "poor quality," despite the fact that it had been undertaken by a "reputable scientist and the author of NHMRC's own guidelines on how to conduct evidence reviews." The new contractor, OptumInsight, introduced new ways of analysis that had "never been used before," and which are not being upheld on other research projects at NHMRC.

In March 2015, the NHMRC published findings from the second report, stating definitively that there are "no health conditions for which there is reliable evidence that homeopathy is effective." These findings were published despite the fact that two independent experts raised concerns over the conclusions. One expert noted that for some conditions, "'no reliable evidence' does not seem an accurate reflection of the body of evidence." A second expert "felt uncertain of the definitive nature of the report's conclusions."

The NHMRC has also misled the public into thinking that there are no "good-quality, well-designed (homeopathic) studies with enough participants for a meaningful result." They are wrong. Numerous studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of homeopathic treatment. Conditions such as hay fever, sinusitis, upper respiratory tract infections, diarrhea in children, and lower back pain have shown significant improvement on a number of studies.

The NHMRC refuses to release the first report, despite repeated Freedom of Information requests. Why?

The chief executive of the Homeopathy Research Institute, Rachel Roberts, sums it up:

Rachel Roberts explains why she is supporting the new campaign by the UK's 4Homeopathy collaboration, and why she wants the Australian NHMRC to ...

Our program is unique in that it is Comprehensive, Clinically-focused, and Personal. Our College only accepts a limited number of applicants and focuses on personalized teaching in small groups. Students get the full attention of faculty throughout their studies and become part of the OCH family.

We provide serious professional training in an amicable and supportive environment where everyone is valued and appreciated for their unique gifts and learning styles. Our College also creates spaces for friendships to emerge through communal lunches and events. Our program is clinically-focused. Students get extensive clinical training at our Teaching Clinic for 2 full years. This helps students gain the practical skills and confidence needed to run a successful homeopathic practice upon graduation. Our Teaching Clinic is run as a service to the Ottawa-Gatineau community. The clinic charges low fees and facilitates access to homeopathic treatment for community members who could not otherwise afford it. This clinical focus, along with the comprehensiveness of our program and our personalized and supportive study environment are what make us a unique place to study homeopathy.
