I can’t get enough of this book!! James Crews fills the pages of his book with words that seem to get right into your bloodstream and travel throughout your whole body.

After each poem, he shares his thoughts about the message that his words deliver and also includes an invitation for the reader to reflect on what they just experienced. I’m using the word “experienced” here and not read because I feel like we are not just reading his poems, we are experiencing them.

This book is filled with so much light! Yes, it is about grief, but woven into the feelings of grief, there is joy...joy in the love that you once shared with your person and the joy that lines every memory you hold close.

Such a gorgeous book! James Crews includes writing prompts with all of his poems and this is the prompt for the poem I just read:
