“Peer support isn't just about helping. I believe it's about how we all show up for one another, and that youth engagement is what turns support into authentic and meaningful partnerships.”

That's how our colleague Christina wrapped up our presentation yesterday at the Power of Peer Support Conference in Ottawa.

Together, she and Kelli spoke about youth engagement and the pillars of peer support, highlighting our quality standard for youth engagement and practical tools such as our engagement traffic light. 🚦

We're here all day today too—come say hi! 👋

In Canada, there's no standardized system of routine data collection for children under six—meaning we’re missing key insights into early mental health and development.

To start addressing this gap, we worked with Infant and Early Mental Health Promotion and Public Health Ontario to bring together experts from across Ontario for two collaborative meetings.

Being involved in this sector is rewarding, but it can also feel complex, demanding, and emotionally heavy.

That's why staying connected to your purpose matters.

We asked attendees at the Children's Mental Health Ontario Conference a simple question: "What's your reason for showing up in the child and youth mental health and substance use health sector?"

Their answers are a powerful reminder—behind every role, program, and service are people deeply committed to making sure Ontario's young people feel heard, supported, and safe.

Thank you for being part of this work. 💚
