What a meaningful week ❤️ Through many different activities, we raised money for - which works to provide school supplies for students so that they can have a great school year! Thanks to your generosity, Carlingwood raised $613.20 for this spectacular initiative 😍🥰

Throughout the week we had a fun Back to School Social with Mary Ellen & snacks from our kitchen, we wrote inspirational notes for students during “Art Class”, Derek was in for “Music Class”, we had a “Field Trip” to Shirley’s Bay for a picnic, and we finished off the week with a Bake sale!

We were extremely lucky to have Dr. Alsharif from the Humans For Peace institution deliver an interactive, informative and very interesting presentation on Digital Safety For Seniors. Residents learned tips and tricks on how to protect themselves online, including how to recognize online scams, password safety, safe use of social media, and protecting personal & financial data online. Bienvenue à Paris! We had a lovely afternoon celebrating everything French. A huge thank you to Gertrude for her perfectly-themed performance. We truly appreciate the thought and effort you put into your show to make our Afternoon in Paris memorable! We had a full house for the Northern Youth Abroad presentation this week! This small registered charity offers experiential education programs for youth aged 15-22 from Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. The participants live at for 3 weeks, and they have the opportunity to take part in construction classes, volunteering and and experience life in Ottawa. This program aims to introduce students to post-secondary life and help them practice skills like giving presentations, which they may not have had many opportunities to develop.

Thank you so much to the youth presenters for sharing their culture through activities, props and demonstrations. We were all captivated!

We really hope to have you back again next year 😍
