Dear Friends, I am celebrating Ramadan this year with a heavy heart. I lost my mother to cancer one month after Ramadan last year and this is my first Ramadan without her. This grief is also compounded by witnessing the ongoing loss and devastation faced by Palestinian families.

Palestinians in Gaza are breaking their fasts on grass and lemons. They are grinding up animal feed for their iftars. Children are dying from starvation. I know I am not alone in feeling helpless about the ongoing genocide taking place before our eyes.
