Regional Paramedic Program for Eastern Ontario - RPPEO Providing events, insights, knowledge and discussion on matters of patient safety and quality of care for ambulance service paramedics in Eastern Ontario.

We are the base hospital for Eastern Ontario paramedics. In February 2009, the Regional Paramedic Program for Eastern Ontario was created, combining the best of both the Ottawa and Kingston Base Hospitals. We provide medical direction, education and advice to paramedics and paramedic services in nine upper-tier municipalities across Eastern Ontario. The communities served by the Regional Paramedic Program for Eastern Ontario are Prescott-Russell, Cornwall, Ottawa, The County of Renfrew, Lanark County, Leeds and Grenville, Lennox and Addington, Hastings County, Prince Edward County and Frontenac County. Combined, this includes nine paramedic services and more than 1200 Paramedics, both Primary Care (PCP) and Advanced Care Paramedics (ACP). The Regional Paramedic Program for Eastern Ontario strives for excellence in prehospital care to ensure that the people in our community receive the highest-quality clinical care possible. We are seeking experienced ACPs to join our clinical quality review team as Peer Reviewers.

This is your opportunity to directly influence patient safety and care standards by reviewing Ambulance Call Reports (ACRs) and identifying areas for clinical improvement.

🔍 What You'll Do:
✔️ Review ACRs for delegated medical acts
✔️ Identify clinical care issues and patient safety concerns
✔️ Support RPPEO’s oversight mandate from the Ministry of Health
✔️ Work asynchronously and remotely

🧠 Who We’re Looking For:
✅ At least 5 years of paramedic practice, 2 years as an ACP
✅ Currently certified and practicing within the RPPEO region
✅ Familiar with ALS PCS, BLS PCS, and clinical practice documents
✅ Able to commit at least 8 hours/week
✅ Comfortable working independently with strong clinical judgment

In February 2009, the Ottawa and Kingston Base Hospitals began a collaboration that was the birth of the Regional Paramedic Program for Eastern Ontario.

Today, the RPPEO’s vision is to provide each patient with the world-class care, exceptional service, and compassion we would want for our loved ones. We have four core values: - Compassion - Commitment to quality - Working together - Respect for the individual
