John Ambulance has been ensuring the health, safety, and quality of life of Canadians at home, work, and play for more than 140 years. We are Canada’s largest and most trusted provider of first aid training and the only national first aid training provider recognized in every Canadian province and territory. Each year, we issue approximately 550,000 first aid and CPR certificates to Canadians across the country. In the workplace, St. John Ambulance is the provider of choice for leading national corporations including Dollarama, Air Canada, Via Rail, Apple, and many more. Today, many regulators use St. John Ambulance first aid training courses to set the standard by which other first-aid trainers operate.

Not only are our Community Services Volunteers highly trained in First Aid, with regular practice sessions, but they also do internal training on a variety of other skills used on duties in the field. Today we have a crew in for driver training on our truck and mobile units. Many thanks to those who gave up their Saturday to be here and especially to those leading the course!

Each year after the Canada Day events, a thank you celebration is held for all the volunteers who make it a success. This year SJA FD (Ottawa) was presented with a certicate acknowledging our contributions to the day with medical support and first aid by our volunteers for 45 years!
