At Tea and Toast, we’re on a mission to provide seniors and their families with compassionate and personalized support throughout their retirement living transition. We’ve helped thousands of Ottawa seniors and their families find the right mix of care and amenities. Our team provides the education, knowledge, and support that seniors and their families need to make informed decisions about their future that are rooted in their unique needs. Our services include retirement living search, long-term care navigation, eldercare planning, and workshops. Often, when families try to navigate senior living or long-term care on their own, they spend 80+ hours researching and touring communities. Working with our expert advisors can bring the time spent down to about 5 hours and ensure you feel confident about the decisions being made.

Safety is always the priority when discussing the eldercare journey. The question about home safety is more than just stairs a senior might have trouble with. There have been times where other people in the household that may be causing some danger. We're seeing a small trend of seniors moving to Ottawa to retire closer to their families 🩵 When moving to a new city or new province, of course of of the first questions is "how can I get a doctor?" Many retirement homes have a visiting family physician, and so if our clients will need a doctor, we ensure to include that in the search criteria.

It's all part of our multi-faceted approach.

There are some situation where we may do two rounds of touring. In this case, family members did the initial tours to really narrow thigs down, and then the senior was able to join us for revisiting the top two retirement homes chosen to see what he thought. We do our best to be flexible to what families need.
