Get to know Dr. Tannys Vause (she/her), Consultant Physician and Director at the Ottawa Fertility Centre.

Dr. Vause completed her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the University of Manitoba. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alberta.

Having undergone fertility issues and treatment herself, Dr. Vause emphasises the power of communication and patient experience, ensuring that you are heard and understood, and guiding you through all the steps of diagnosis and treatment. She welcomes all new patients to her practice and aims to help you navigate this challenging time in life and find your path to a happy and healthy pregnancy.

We’re encouraged by the Ontario government’s continued commitment to improving access to fertility care.

The proposed Fertility Treatment Tax Credit, effective January 2025, will allow Ontario residents to claim:
✔️ 25% back on up to $20,000 in eligible fertility expenses
✔️ That’s up to $5,000/year

This builds on a $150M investment into the Ontario Fertility Program previously announced through the 2024 Ontario Economic Outlook and Fiscal Review.

Even more encouraging:

An additional $100M planned for 2027–28 to support the continued expansion of the Ontario Fertility Program.

This additional funding will:

✅ Expand clinic capacity
✅ Reduce waitlists in hospitals and community settings
✅ Nearly triple access to government-funded IVF

We're hopeful about what this means for people wanting to start or grow their families in Ontario.
