Can’t wait to collaborate with Mary for this lovely event!

Have you heard about this fun new collaboration happening June 6th?!

This beautiful afternoon will come at the perfect time, right at the transition into summer ☀️

Our day of MOVEMENT will be a mindful mobility focused YANG flow to help us land deep in our bodies to awaken our inner strength, followed by a gentle YIN practice to support us in finding balance in this busy season and into a more open, calm, connected state.

We will also MELT into this space of balance through Sound Healing, Yoga Nidra and optional Acupuncture with Osteopath, RMT & Acupuncturist Charlene Pierce of MOVE Integrated Health Clinic.

If opting into acupuncture, Charlene will be working on releasing tension (especially through the Liver system), while supporting the Heart—so you leave feeling grounded, relaxed, and more present in your body.

This afternoon is $75 + tax (+ $30 (no tax)) if opting into acupuncture, receipt available for insurance purposes).

💙 A gentle thought before starting a February 100-push-up challenge💙

I love the community energy around movement challenges — truly.

Just a little awareness from someone who sees bodies every day: most of us already live in a push-up posture — lots of sitting, arms forward, shoulders slightly rolled in (driving, cooking, lifting, scrolling)… Add in 8-12 hours of rib compression from bras (for many women), and the front of the body is often already working overtime.

Push-ups are a great exercise.
Doing 100 of anything, every day, without balance is where strain, impingement and eventually pain can show up.

👉 If you’re doing the challenge, try pairing it with these 3 simple balances:

1️⃣ Pull something
Rows, band pulls, or even squeezing shoulder blades together — this helps counter all the pushing.

2️⃣ Open your ribs & breathe
Hands on ribs, slow nasal breaths into the sides and back of your rib cage for 2–3 minutes.

3️⃣ Strengthen the back body
Glute bridges, hip hinges, or gentle back-body activation to support posture and load sharing.

Think open → then strengthen.
Think balance, not extremes.

Your body isn’t fragile — it just responds to what we ask of it most often.

We're offering 3 MORE Yin and Pin Sessions for ❄️Wintering Season 2025/2026❄️ at Amana Yoga

At our Yin and Pin Sessions, you can expect a complete slowing down of mind and body with Jennifer Greenlaw leading the Yin portion and Charlene Pierce DOMP, R.Ac, leading the Pin portion. While you're lying with your pins in at the end of your practice, you are guided through a seasonal Yoga Nidra.

The cost of each session is $50+txs, and you will receive a $30 receipt for the acupuncture portion of your session that you can provide for insurance.

What a great gift to arrive home to tonight! Eek!

5 years and 6 months later… I can finally call myself an Osteopath. It’s official!

I remember signing up for the program when Mabel was 5 and Josie was 7. Feels like a lifetime ago.

I couldn’t have done it without the love and support of my husband, family and friends. Thanks to all who helped Jake out when I was away in Halifax every month. It takes a village!
