It's Pink Day at KVHS. A fundraising initiative primarily in support of cancer research but also an opportunity to demonstrate support in other ways for the community. We were delighted to support their efforts as Funeral Director Lethe Kerr teamed up with this group of KV students this morning to drop off a donation of pies to the KV Food Basket in preparation for Thanksgiving.

Happy to help a great group of young people help the wonderful people at the food bank who play such an important role in our community. We appreciate all of you and are grateful to have you as our neighbours.

Happy Thanksgiving!

In conjunction with Saint John West Days, Castle Fallsview Funeral Home is hosting Coffee@Castle. Join us on Saturday morning – Family Day – between 8 AM and 10 AM for coffee and an early morning treat here at 309 Lancaster Avenue.

We will be serving coffee and snacks in our parking lot and Saint John West’s own storyteller David Goss will be sharing West Side stories and lore on our deck overlooking the falls, the river and downtown.

We’re excited to be a part of Saint John West Days and we hope you will stop by and let us treat you to your morning coffee to kick off Community Day.

AN INVITATION FROM OUR COLLEAGUES AT CASTLE:

LANCASTER AVENUE HOUSE & HERITAGE RAMBLE – Tuesday, June 4, 7:15 pm

Castle Fallsview Funeral Home is proud to sponsor the first WALK 'N TALK WITH DAVID GOSS of the 2024 summer season.

David will kick off his 45th season with a stroll along Lancaster Avenue exploring our beautiful old neighbourhood. Beginning at the funeral home and taking in Wolastoq Park, David will share some of the history of the building that is now the temporary home of the NB Museum. Other highlights will include Earle House, Lewin Park and Tilton’s Corner. We’ll return to Castle where David will discuss the 1949 landslide, the construction of the Saint John Throughway and the origins of the Cushing and Ready properties. Light refreshments will be provided following the walk.

This walk is approximately 2 km and covers relatively easy terrain but walkers participate at their own risk. The rain date is the following evening. In case of inclement weather call 506-672-8601 after 6 pm on walk day for a message on any postponement.

David Goss is one of Saint John’s best known storytellers. The author, researcher, folklorist and tour guide is a walking encyclopedia of the history, the myths and the people of our city. If you haven’t walked with David, you don’t know what you’re missing.

We had a special visitor today. This is Haggis who came to raise our spirits today. She’s a little prickly on the outside but she’s a sweet little gal.
