Ken-Val Rehab & Sports Injury Centre opened in October of 2001 and is owned and operated by Stewart Munroe (Certified Athletic Therapist) and Glenda Landry Munroe (Physiotherapist). Our team of Therapists take pride in using an active, comprehensive Sports Medicine Model for the rehabilitation of muscle/tendon/bone injuries. Don’t let the word “sports” confuse you…this rehabilitation model is not only for athletes that have been hurt while playing a sport, it is for everyone who has been injured or is learning to live with a disease process. After all…tissue heals in the same way regardless of what activity caused the injury or disease process and regardless of what activity you are trying to get back to. Our clients’ ages range from 4 to 94! We’ve helped as many grandparents return to being able to play with their grandchildren as we have athletes return to their sports! While the end goal may be different, the body’s path to getting there is the same. The sports medicine model of rehabilitation simply means we emphasize an active rather than passive approach to treatment. We work closely with you to teach you what you safely CAN do at every stage of your healing process rather than focussing on the things you can’t. It also means our commitment to provide you with the education needed for you to understand the required frequency of treatment sessions that will promote optimum injury healing and exercise effect at every stage of your rehabilitation. Located at 22 Marr Road in Rothesay, the Centre offers a comfortable and welcoming environment for their clients. To say the least it was a day of mixed emotions for sure!!…so excited for you and Rudi on this next stage of life!! But can’t imagine not seeing you with us in the office every day!!
