The Opticians Association of New Brunswick (OANB) has some must-know tips to keep your vision boo-tiful and safe:
📝 1. Get a Prescription
Even if you have 20/20 vision — you STILL need a prescription! Non-prescription lenses can cause serious eye damage 👀🚫
✅ 2. Buy from Trusted Sources
Only purchase lenses from licensed eye care professionals – contact lens are considered a medical device and need to be properly fitted!🕷️
🧼 3. Practice Scary-Good Hygiene
Wash hands before handling, clean lenses properly, and never use tap water or (yuck) saliva! 🧼🫧
⏰ 4. Don’t Overwear
Your spooky stare isn’t meant to last all night — follow your optician’s wear-time guidelines ⏳🎭
🚨 5. Know the Red Flags

October is Blindness Awareness Month: Bringing public awareness to those who are blind or have a visual impairment.

The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) is a non-profit organization,
designed to create inclusion for those who are blind or visually impaired.
Services offered range from: CNIB guide dogs & assistance devices to mobile services (in some communities).
