Join our Grief Walk & Talk to gently move your body, connect with others, and find comfort in a supportive space where you can share—or simply walk in silence—while navigating your grief. We’re excited to offer this new weekly program exclusively in Sussex in partnership with the Nutrien Civic Centre, where on sunny days we’ll walk outdoors and on rainy days we’ll use the indoor walking track, with our hostess there to gently guide conversation along the way.

We have been thinking a lot about what it actually means to be accessible right now. The cost of living continues to rise across Saint John and New Brunswick, we know that even low-cost therapy options can feel out of reach.

So we've made a change. Our low-cost program is now $10 a session until August while Hannah completes her practicum. This is about making therapy a real option. If you have been needing support but holding off because of cost, we hope this makes it feel possible.

Spots are limited... but we would love to connect with you. You can text, email or book directly with Hannah here: https://therapycollectiveatlantic.janeapp.com/locations/the-therapy-collective-saint-john-new-brunswick-office/book #/staff_member/6

Today is Transgender Day of Visibility šŸ³ļøā€āš§ļø

A day to celebrate the strength, joy, and resilience of trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse people across Canada and the world!

If you’re wondering how to support trans people in your life and community, here are a few ways to start:

Listen and affirm:
Respect people’s identities, names, and pronouns. You don’t need to fully understand someone’s experience to honour it.

I developed an Allyship workbook filled with information and activities you can download for free, link is in my bio!

Educate yourself:
Take initiative to learn about trans experiences, rights, and the barriers trans people experience, without relying on trans folks to teach you.

Speak up:
Challenge transphobia when you hear it in conversations, workplaces, and online spaces. Visibility must be matched with meaningful action.

Advocate for access;
Support policies and services that improve access to gender-affirming healthcare, legal recognition, and safe spaces.

Reach out to your elected officials about funding gaps in gender-affirming care in the NB budget. The New Brunswick Trans Health Network has a ready-to-use advocacy letter you can find it in the link in my bio.

Support trans-led work:
Follow, amplify, and (when able) financially support trans creators, organizations, and community initiatives.

Create safer spaces:
Whether you’re a friend, family member, clinician, or employer, your actions can help people feel safer being themselves.

Support trans-affirming organizations:
Donate to, volunteer with, and amplify organizations at the forefront of advocacy, affirming programming, and community-based support. Some great local organizations include and national organizations include ***rmomentum and

Visibility is important — but safety, dignity, and access to care are what truly change lives.

Today, and every day, we move beyond awareness into action!

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

No funding for gender-affirming care in N.B. budget leaves critical gap unaddressed

FREDERICTON, N.B. — March 17, 2026 — The Government of New Brunswick’s 2026 budget fails to address urgent gaps in gender-affirming healthcare, with no dedicated funding allocated despite ongoing need across the province and prior commitments to improve access to care.

New Brunswick is the only province in Atlantic Canada without a gender-affirming care clinic. The province continues to rely on a fragmented, provider-based system with no clear entry points or referral pathways.
After years of attacks on trans rights under the previous government, trans New Brunswickers and allies continue to hope for repair and protection. New Brunswick Transgender Health Network (NBTHN), Chroma NB, and Alter Acadie NB have been actively advocating for the creation of a gender-affirming care clinic and program. More than 300 New Brunswickers wrote to the government to share their personal stories in support of this call to action. Many trans people described the serious barriers they face in accessing this life-saving care, while allies emphasized their expectation that this government show moral leadership on the issue.
ā€œGender-affirming care is life-saving primary health care. The absence of any targeted investment means people in New Brunswick will continue to navigate a fragmented and inconsistent system, often without clear entry points or timely access to care, which we know results in poorer mental and physical health outcomesā€ said Dr. Kathleen Taylor of NBTHN.
The proposed clinic and program would have only cost approximately 0.04% of total health-care spending. In a budget that includes the largest investment in health-care in New Brunswick's history, it is disappointing that the government did not find room for these essential services. Budget 2026–2027 includes no new spending for trans health or 2SLGBTQI+ health more broadly.
Without a clinic and program, trans New Brunswickers will continue to face serious gaps in care. Many will continue to struggle to access or maintain hormone therapy, find safe and inclusive primary care, and navigate a health-care system that too often lets them fall through the cracks.
We remain hopeful that the government will take action. Gender-affirming care could yet be incorporated into the mandate of another clinic, such as a sexual and reproductive health clinic, as part of a broader effort to improve equitable access to care in New Brunswick.

With winter continuing to be in full swing, we want to clarify how we handle inclement weather at The Therapy Collective.

Your safety (and ours!) matters. If weather may impact your appointment, your therapist will aim to reach out to discuss options.

Whenever possible, we will offer a virtual session instead of cancelling. This helps maintain continuity of care and avoids disruptions to your therapeutic process.

Please note: our standard cancellation policy remains in effect, even during inclement weather, if a virtual option is available.

We appreciate your understanding as we balance safety with consistent care. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to your therapist directly.

Stay safe and warm ā¤ļø
