Never forgotten.

Please take a moment to honour and remember Lt. Christopher Saunders who died serving his country while on HMCS Chicoutimi twenty years ago today.

Honour their sacrifices.

*This Wednesday, 6:30pm in Kings Square*

September 11th has been named by the International Association of Firefighters as the International Day of Mourning for all firefighters who have been killed in the line of duty or felled because of occupational diseases. The IAFF has sought for many years to designate such a day, and September 11th became the obvious choice.

Local 771 is holding a Memorial Parade from the Firefighters Museum to our fallen firefighters memorial “The Bell Monument” where we will conduct a helmet laying ceremony. The Parade will commence at 6:30pm and will be followed by a reception at the Firefighters Museum on Sydney Street. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to 6:45pm at the Southend Armouries.

This event will involve Firefighters from the Atlantic Provinces and Maine. The parade and ceremony are open to the public.
