The Therapy Collective

The Therapy Collective Approaching therapy co-operatively, through individual and community connection. I am flexible in my work and continuously learn with and from my clients.

I provide counselling services to adults of all ages and adolescents (aged 14+). I believe each client is unique and accordingly tailor my practice to each individual.

I am trained in various modalities, from which I often draw in my practice; these include dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), EMDR, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). My approach is variable, depending on what you would like to work through.

I have been in the mental health field for a number of years in various roles, working primarily with not-for-profit organizations in the Saint John area. I have presented and published on a range of topics including personality, attachment, executive function, substance use, and trauma - all of which complement my abilities as a clinician. I know that the healing process is not the same for everyone and that rigid approaches to treatment may not always be appropriate.

Grief can feel heavy and isolating, especially when you’re carrying it quietly. This January, we’re offering a virtual grief support group for those who are looking for understanding, connection, and gentle guidance in a safe space.

This group will be led by one of our trained grief counsellors and will run January 12–15, 2026. Together, we’ll explore grief through learning and shared experience, offering both education and meaningful peer support. You don’t have to have the right words—just come as you are.

Registration is required and space is limited to 20 participants. If you are currently on our waitlist, you will be contacted first for registration.

✨ Now Enrolling: Bridges to Recovery - Intensive Group Program ✨

We’re excited to share that a new cohort of our group therapy program, Bridges to Recovery, begins Monday, January 12, and there are still a few spaces available.

This free program is designed to support women who are transitioning from acute treatment back into community life, or who are at an important early stage in their recovery journey. The group offers a safe, supportive space to build connection, stability, and confidence and is facilitated by a Clinical Social Worker (MSW).

If you work with women who may benefit from this program - now or in the future - we’d love to connect! Please fill out the form at the bottom of our website so we can stay in touch: https://sophiarecoverycentre.com/programs-and-services/focused-pathways/

💜 Together, we build bridges to recovery.

You don’t have to disappear to make the holidays work.

Boundaries don’t create distance. Boundaries create enough safety to stay present. Especially when family dynamics are heavy.

The holiday season has a way of amplifying discomfort.

It’s true, not every boundary requires a conversation. But boundaries are still about intention and responsibility…not disappearing because something feels uncomfortable.

Relief and regulation aren’t the same thing.
Discomfort is not danger.

EXCITING NEWS FOR THE NEW YEAR: We are delighted to be welcoming Hannah Watson as she completes her Master's practicum with us!

Hannah Watson, RSW (she/her), is a Master of Social Work student with Memorial University of Newfoundland. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Social Work degree from Algoma University and a Social Service Worker diploma from Northern College. Hannah has supported people across the lifespan in oncology, mental health, and health care settings. She currently works with the Primary Care team in Saint John and will be completing her field practicum part-time with The Therapy Collective.

Hannah weaves together Mindful Self-Compassion, mind-body practices, person-centred, and Narrative approaches to create a space where clients can feel seen, safe, and supported in their own timing. Her work is guided by a deep belief in the body’s wisdom and the power of story to bring meaning and healing. Hannah’s passions lie in grief literacy, holistic and somatic healing, and walking alongside others as they reconnect with their inner-world, soften into self-trust, and cultivate gentle resilience through life’s transitions. When not supporting others, Hannah can be found on her yoga mat, embracing nature at her family cottage, or spending time with her loved ones

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.
This year’s theme, “Changing the Narrative on Su***de,” reminds us not to shy away from the conversation. Silence fuels stigma. Compassion, honesty, and connection save lives.

Talking about su***de does not create risk; silence does. By checking in on one another and reminding those who are struggling that they are not alone, we help build hope. 💛

If you are in Canada and need support, dial or text 988 for the Su***de Crisis Helpline.
