The Therapy Collective

The Therapy Collective Approaching therapy co-operatively, through individual and community connection. I am flexible in my work and continuously learn with and from my clients.

I provide counselling services to adults of all ages and adolescents (aged 14+). I believe each client is unique and accordingly tailor my practice to each individual.

I am trained in various modalities, from which I often draw in my practice; these include dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), EMDR, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). My approach is variable, depending on what you would like to work through.

I have been in the mental health field for a number of years in various roles, working primarily with not-for-profit organizations in the Saint John area. I have presented and published on a range of topics including personality, attachment, executive function, substance use, and trauma - all of which complement my abilities as a clinician. I know that the healing process is not the same for everyone and that rigid approaches to treatment may not always be appropriate.

March is Social Work Month in Canada.

Social workers hold space for complex stories, advocate within systems, and support individuals and families through life’s hardest moments.

This month, we recognize the social workers at The Therapy Collective: Kate, Jenn, and Tammy, and (of course) licensed counselling therapist Steven.

Thank you for the care, advocacy, and steady presence you bring to this work every day. ❤️

International Women’s Day was 23 hours long this year thanks to daylight savings.

Which feels honestly really fitting. To the women doing both the visible and invisible work every day, we see you. ❤️

With winter continuing to be in full swing, we want to clarify how we handle inclement weather at The Therapy Collective.

Your safety (and ours!) matters. If weather may impact your appointment, your therapist will aim to reach out to discuss options.

Whenever possible, we will offer a virtual session instead of cancelling. This helps maintain continuity of care and avoids disruptions to your therapeutic process.

Please note: our standard cancellation policy remains in effect, even during inclement weather, if a virtual option is available.

We appreciate your understanding as we balance safety with consistent care. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to your therapist directly.

Stay safe and warm ❤️

Today we closed our final ‘Helping Women Recover’ group at Sophia Recovery Centre by weaving a web of affirmations, a reminder that none of us heal alone. This group has been truly wonderful, filled with honesty, courage, and connection, and it’s been an honour to witness the way these women have supported one another. It felt especially meaningful to end with an activity led by our MSW student Hannah, whom our group welcomed today for the first time even as we marked the closing of this chapter together. A beautiful reminder that even as groups end, connection carries forward. ♥️

Canada's PM just said the old world order isn't coming back... It's a reminder that in life waiting for how things used to be slows our ability to adapt. What are you delaying or holding on to that isn't serving your growth anymore?

This group will be led by one of our trained grief counsellors and will run January 12–15, 2026. Together, we’ll explore grief through learning and shared experience, offering both education and meaningful peer support. You don’t have to have the right words—just come as you are.

Registration is required and space is limited to 20 participants. If you are currently on our waitlist, you will be contacted first for registration.

You don’t have to disappear to make the holidays work.

The holiday season has a way of amplifying discomfort.

It’s true, not every boundary requires a conversation. But boundaries are still about intention and responsibility…not disappearing because something feels uncomfortable.

Relief and regulation aren’t the same thing.
Discomfort is not danger.
