The Therapy Collective

The Therapy Collective Approaching therapy co-operatively, through individual and community connection. I am flexible in my work and continuously learn with and from my clients.

I provide counselling services to adults of all ages and adolescents (aged 14+). I believe each client is unique and accordingly tailor my practice to each individual.

I am trained in various modalities, from which I often draw in my practice; these include dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), EMDR, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). My approach is variable, depending on what you would like to work through.

I have been in the mental health field for a number of years in various roles, working primarily with not-for-profit organizations in the Saint John area. I have presented and published on a range of topics including personality, attachment, executive function, substance use, and trauma - all of which complement my abilities as a clinician. I know that the healing process is not the same for everyone and that rigid approaches to treatment may not always be appropriate.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.
This year’s theme, “Changing the Narrative on Su***de,” reminds us not to shy away from the conversation. Silence fuels stigma. Compassion, honesty, and connection save lives.

Talking about su***de does not create risk; silence does. By checking in on one another and reminding those who are struggling that they are not alone, we help build hope. 💛

If you are in Canada and need support, dial or text 988 for the Su***de Crisis Helpline.

Back-to-school brings fresh starts and new routines, but it can also bring pressure. In the rush to get everyone else ready, don’t forget yourself. Take a moment to pause and set one gentle intention for the season ahead.

The things that make you different are often the very things that make you extraordinary. Instead of dimming your light to fit in, give yourself permission to shine, exactly as you are.

Sometimes our body leads the way. Research shows that simply smiling (even when you don't feel like it) can help shift your mood. A gentle reminder that small actions can spark real change.

We were delighted to host students from the Saint John Learning Exchange last week- these students had some great questions about what it's like to be a therapist and sparked an interesting conversation around the question 'how do you feel about that?' -- read our latest blog about that very question and what it actually means!

“Therapy is just someone asking how you feel”Last week, a group of amazing students from the Saint John Learning Exchange came to visit our new office uptown and learn about what it’s like to be a therapist. They all had great questions prepared but one question really got me thinking… “Wh...

We’re so excited to officially welcome Tammy, our former MSW student, to The Therapy Collective as an Associate Therapist! Tammy is now booking clients for late July and onward, both in-person in and virtually across New Brunswick.

Tammy’s approach is grounded in an anti-oppressive, person-centered, and trauma-informed lens. She brings valuable experience from her previous work, and she is deeply committed to creating a space where you feel respected, heard, and supported.

Tammy believes that therapy works best when it’s collaborative and rooted in your strengths—and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her on the team.

📩 To book with Tammy, send us a message, text 506-607-8528, or email info@therapycollective.net to get started.

Let’s give her a warm welcome! 💛
