What your therapist wants you to remember this holiday season 🤍

The holidays don’t have to look a certain way to be “right.”
It’s okay if things feel complicated.
It’s okay to rest.
It’s okay to feel joy and grief at the same time.
It’s okay to celebrate small wins.
It’s okay to set boundaries.
And it’s okay to not do it all.

You’re allowed to move through this season in a way that feels supportive for you🎄✨

🫶🎄 The holidays can feel joyful… but also a little overwhelming. Between busy schedules, family dynamics, and endless treats at every gathering, it’s completely normal to notice changes in your eating habits.

Here are a few gentle reminders as you navigate the season:
🤍 Emotional eating isn’t a failure, it’s a coping strategy your body learned to help you feel safe or comforted.
🤍 Awareness is the first step. Notice when you’re eating for comfort, connection, boredom, or stress. No judgment.
🤍 Pause & check in. Ask yourself: What do I really need right now? Rest? A break from noise? A moment outside?
🤍 Enjoy your favourite foods in moderation. You don’t need to “earn” holiday meals. You also don’t need to restrict them.
🤍 Small steps matter, one mindful moment at a time can make a big difference.

If emotional eating is something you want to better understand or work through, therapy offers a safe space to explore your relationship with food, especially during the most stressful seasons. Reach out to me if you'd like to book a discovery call✨

Exciting update! ✨ I’m officially trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) - an evidence-based therapy used to help people work through distressing experiences, emotional blocks, and patterns that feel “stuck.”

EMDR doesn’t require talking in detail about the event. Instead, it uses guided eye movements or tapping to help the brain reprocess memories in a healthier, more adaptive way.

Many clients find EMDR helpful for:
🧠 Anxiety
🥦 Emotional eating + stress responses
🤕 Negative self-beliefs
😞 Past experiences that still feel heavy
💬 Feeling “stuck” in certain patterns

I’m excited to integrate this approach into my work and support clients with another powerful tool for healing and growth 🤍

If you’re curious whether EMDR might be a good fit for you, feel free to reach out anytime through DM's!

🧠🌱 Regulation doesn’t mean being calm all the time - it means being capable all the time.

A regulated nervous system can rise to the moment, come back down, rest when needed, and move through activation without getting stuck. It’s the flexibility to feel, adapt, and recover, not the pressure to stay peaceful 24/7.

You don’t need to be calm to be regulated. You just need to be connected to your body and able to shift states with more ease🤍

You can’t always control what triggers you - but you can control how you care for yourself after. It’s about recognizing the feeling, grounding yourself, and choosing the response that aligns with your growth 🤍🌱

⏰🤍 The time change can throw our internal rhythm off — and with less sunlight, it’s normal to feel lower energy or even mood changes. If you’ve noticed yourself feeling “off,” remember, it’s not just in your head. Your body and mind are responding to seasonal shifts.

Try grounding routines, daily light exposure, and check-ins with yourself (or a professional) to help keep balance 🌤️

Emotional overload isn’t always loud, sometimes it’s the quiet exhaustion, the tension that won’t release, or the constant need to “hold it all together.”

Your body isn’t failing you - it’s protecting you. It’s been in survival mode for so long that rest and release might feel unfamiliar 🌱

Healing starts when you allow your body to feel safe enough to rest.
