📧 A Quick Update!

I wanted to share a small change that will make it easier for us to stay connected 😊

My work email is only accessible when I’m on the clinic’s internet network, which means if I’m out doing footcare (or not physically in the office), I don’t always see messages right away.

To make things simpler, I’ll now be using an email that’s easy to remember and can be accessed from anywhere 👇

📧 footcarewithashley@gmail.com

This way, whether I’m in the clinic, at a facility, or out seeing clients, I can respond more efficiently and not miss any messages.

As always, thank you for your patience and support — and please feel free to reach out anytime 💙🦶

Meet the Nurse 👋🦶

Now that the excitement of the new year has settled, I wanted to give myself the chance to re-introduce the person behind the PPE 💙

Hi, I’m Ashley — an LPN since 2020, with 8 years of experience working in nursing homes before that. Footcare became something I felt deeply called to after seeing just how preventable loss of mobility can be when feet and nails aren’t cared for properly. I watched residents lose comfort, independence, and mobility simply because nails weren’t managed — leading to pain, infections, and bigger issues than many people realize.

I love what I do, but what I love most is the relationships that come with it. My appointments are often filled with laughs, sometimes tears, and a whole lot of conversation — it’s kind of like a two-for-one… footcare and therapy 😅

Outside of work, I’m a fiancée and a mama. I have two stepkids, Paisley (11) and Paxton (8), and a 3 year old son of my own, Riley 💙 We live a slower, home-grown kind of life — the kind where your neighbours might be people… or they might be cows 🐄😂 And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Footcare isn’t just about feet to me. It’s about dignity, comfort, connection, and keeping people safely on their feet for as long as possible. I’m so grateful for every client who trusts me with their care — you truly make this work so rewarding.

If you’ve been here since the start, thank you 💙
If you’re new, welcome — I’m really glad you’re here.

👣 Foot Fact Friday

Swollen Feet Aren’t Just Tired Feet

Did you know swelling in the feet and ankles (edema) can be more than just a sign of being on your feet too long? It can also point to circulation issues, heart problems, or vein conditions that need attention.

👉 Mild swelling can often be managed with:
✔️ Elevating your feet
✔️ Staying active and moving regularly
✔️ Wearing compression socks (I’m a certified fitter!)
✔️ Reducing excess salt intake

But persistent or painful swelling should never be ignored—it’s your body’s way of telling you something is off. Footcare isn’t just about nails and skin—it’s about circulation, mobility, and overall health.

👣 Foot Fact Friday

Your Feet Have Over 200,000 Nerve Endings!

That’s why they’re so sensitive to touch, pressure, and even tickling. But here’s something important—people with diabetes often lose sensation in their feet (a condition called neuropathy).

👉 This means they may not feel pain from cuts, blisters, or wounds. And if you can’t feel it and can’t easily see the bottom of your feet, it’s a case of out of sight, out of mind—which can lead to infections becoming severe before they’re noticed.

🦶 Daily foot checks, proper footwear, and professional care are essential for anyone living with diabetes. Even small injuries should never be ignored, because healthy feet = a healthier you. 💙

📣 BREAKING NEWS 📣
On Saturday, Sept 6 from 11–2 we’re hosting a BBQ outside Jean Coutu, and it’s basically the event of the year (okay… maybe not Beyoncé-level, but close).

Here’s what’s on the menu:
🌭 BBQ so good you’ll forget you were supposed to be “just running in for toothpaste.”
🎯 Games & prizes (yes, your kid will absolutely want to play them all).
📸 Back-to-School Photo Drop—don’t worry if your child’s “smile” looks like they just licked a lemon. I’ve got a side gig in making kids laugh, so we’ll get the shot.

The best part? Every dollar helps us reach our goal of $5000 in support of Operation Feed. So while you’re filling your belly and your camera roll, you’re also helping fill plates for people in our community.

👉 And hey—if you’re a local business, we’re still looking for a few more donations to make this day extra fun. It’s a great way to show off your business and support a cause that matters. Contact myself, Ashley Sainders, at 506-696-0000 ext 4 or email me at asainders@pjc.jeancoutu.com

We can’t wait to see you all there!☀️

Happy Monday Everyone!! 🌞

With our Community Fundraiser Event for Operation Feed coming up on Sept 6th, 2025, we are in need of some donations to help us make this event as successful as possible.
We are still looking for donations of chocolate bars, small prizes for kids, bottles for our Bottle Drive and of course monetary donations.

Your monetary donations will go towards supplies for the event should we need more. If not, the donation will be added to our goal of $5000!

What is in it for you? Your company logo will be setup at the station to which you made a donation, plus we will have a large "Thank You" sign with donor logos on it as well.

Help us come together to make this a great event for our community! 🤩🤍
