Nature & Nurture Counseling Therapy 🌿
Something that has always felt true to me…
Before I became a counselor, I studied Biology; drawn to the natural world and curious about how we are wired, how we adapt, and what it means to be human.
In psychology, we often hear nature vs. nurture and through my work, I’ve come to believe we are not one or the other… we are both.
We carry innate patterns within us, and we are shaped by our experiences.
Many of the clients I work with are navigating trauma, burnout, and overwhelm. Their systems have adapted in ways that helped them survive—but over time, those patterns can feel exhausting. From an evolutionary perspective, this makes sense. We weren’t meant to live in constant stress and disconnection.
We were meant to move, to rest, to be in relationship, and to spend time in nature. Sometimes I just want to sit by a fire and forage berries 😊
Nurture offers safety, compassion, and connection.
Nature offers grounding, regulation, and a return to something deeply familiar.
This work is about gently coming back to both 💕
