Cortisol... otherwise known as stress... has got to be THE most ignored or overlooked aspect to healing in thyroid disease bar none.

We cannot even begin to hope to improve our symptoms, lower our medication needs, have clear thinking and great memory, healthy nails, skin & hair, a stable weight, and peace of mind unless we are actively working on reducing stress.

And we are talking 3 kinds of stress... mental, physical and emotional. The tricky 3 legged stool... if you ignore one of them, the stool falls over.

I know we feel like it's our fault that we have no motivation, or we just need to sit "a little bit longer" or if you are hyperthyroid, you can't sit still and are driving everyone else around you crazy because you go go go...

This is NOT YOUR FAULT

Your thyroid is running this race, and it's EXHAUSTING... so please don't explain yourself to anyone that does not understand. It's just not worth your precious energy ok?

But also make sure you are taking care of yourself and getting the help you need.
