My goal is to help parents meet their breastfeeding, chestfeeding and lactation goals.

Mother's Day is a wonderful time to celebrate all types of motherhood, including breastfeeding. It's a reminder of the incredible bond between a mother and her child, as well as the nurturing and nourishing role mothers play in their children's lives. Whether you're a breastfeeding mother yourself or supporting someone who is, it's a day to recognize the dedication, love, and hard work that goes into breastfeeding. It's also a time to raise awareness about the importance of providing support and resources to breastfeeding mothers to help them succeed on their breastfeeding journey.

Happy Mother's Day, to all types of mothers! Birth mothers, adoptive mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, and all other maternal figures in our lives! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hello friends! Good news! I am finally (mostly) back on my feet! I am able to see clients again! I am offering in home visits within Whitecourt town limits! If you live outside of town limits, I may still be able to accommodate a home visit, but mileage charges may apply. Virtual appointments are available as well!

Well, I have kind of went offline for a bit. The flu hit our house, spent some time with my family, and then kicked off the new year by going to Jasper and breaking my foot in 9 different places. I will not be taking clients for the time being. Way to kick 2024 off, hey?

This is a hard announcement to make, and I have been putting it off for some time. I have had to make a decision that I did not want to make. Recent events in my life have taken all my attention for a few months. I was hoping beyond all odds that the dust would settle, and this would prove to be a short season. As it turns out, it's turning into a rather long and especially trying season. As a result, I am making the hard choice to close my office. I can't justify continuing to pay rent on a space that I am not using, hoping things turn a corner. I will still be able to do home visits for local families, however, I am not able to travel out of town to see any one. I really struggle with this part of the equation, because the whole point of having an office space was so that there was less limitation on who would be able to book an appointment. I have had families travel hundreds of kilometers to see me, because there is so little access to lactation health care in their own community. It has been a joy and an honor to be able to provide this much needed care to so many families for as long as I did. My own family needs my attention for a while, and if I am being honest, I need a little attention myself.

This isn't so long, it's just see you later. When the time is right, I will explore the option of finding a new space, or a shared space to host a pop up clinic in, or some other option. Right now, I need a hot minute to figure out life, kids, marriage, and the messiness of it all.

Those newborn snuggles count. Every minute of those snuggles counts. Intuitively, we know this. Otherwise, we wouldn't find those downy little heads and that dead weight on us so deliriously delicious.

Every. Minute.

**this study was done with preterm infants, but I think it's reasonable that it would hold true for full term infants as well

I happened to come across something exciting! I had to upload a receipt to my own 3rd party benefits, and in the updated list of providers, Lactation Consultant was listed! I was so excited to see that insurance companies are finally starting to see the benefits of covering lactation care for their clients! Way to go, Canada Life!
