We are deeply grateful to the Town of Whitecourt Employee Social Club for selecting ECHO Society as the recipient of the 2025 Golf Tournament 50/50 draw proceeds!

A huge thank you to the anonymous winner who generously donated the winnings back to the community, and to the EFAP Club for recognizing the value ECHO brings to our community through our years of exemplary service.

We're thrilled to receive the $490 donation, graciously presented by Marie Delevecchio from the Town Employee Social Club to our Board Chair, Gayle Mombourquette, and Executive Director, Karen Killen.

ECHO Disability Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Worker to support individuals with disabilities in Whitecourt. This is a Casual position for our Residential Programs, providing direct support(s), relief for sick leave, vacation, team meetings and training.

Flexible Schedule:
Applicants must be flexible to work days (9am - 5pm); overnights (5pm - 9am) any day of the week.

Opportunity for Growth:
This position may to lead to a permanent role in the future.

Requirements:
Previous experience supporting individuals with cognitive disabilities. A Health Care Aid or medical background is an asset.
Pre-Employment Conditions: Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C, clear Vulnerable Sector Check, Class 5 Driver's License, Driver's Abstract, Reliable vehicle (willing to transport individuals in your own vehicle).

We wanted to extend a big ECHO thanks to Pete & Stephanie Jobin for generously providing pizza for our Pizza in the Park event on Aug. 14! The Beach theme day was a huge success thanks to their support.

We're grateful not only for their delicious food but also for taking the time out of their busy day to join us and be a part of the ECHO community. It was wonderful to have them meet our clients and team members, and we appreciate their commitment to our mission.

Heartfelt Thank You to Darrin and Carrie Hebbes

On behalf of the entire ECHO Society team and our clients, I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude for the incredible experience you shared with us. Your visit to our organization was truly unforgettable, and we are so grateful for the time you took to talk to us about your ranching lifestyle.

Your passion for your work and your willingness to share your knowledge with us was inspiring, and we loved seeing the pictures and videos of your cattle ranch. The fact that you provided us with the delicious beef for our Taco Tuesday celebration was the icing on the cake. It was a wonderful way to bring our organization together and enjoy a meal made from the fruits of your labor.

The cowboy/cowgirl afternoon was a huge hit with everyone, and we loved seeing our clients and team members get dressed up and immersed in the cowboy culture. The mechanical steer and roping lessons were a super fun addition, and everyone had an absolute blast trying their hand at lassoing. Your generosity and kindness have not gone unnoticed, and we are truly grateful for the opportunity to learn from you.

What struck us most was your remarkable resilience and determination in the face of adversity. We were touched to learn about the accident you experienced in 2019 and the disabilities that resulted from it. Yet, you continue to pursue your passion for ranching with unwavering dedication and enthusiasm. Your example taught us a valuable lesson: it's not about the disability, but about what you do with the ability you have. Your story is a testament to the human spirit's capacity to overcome challenges and thrive.

We also want to extend our gratitude to Carrie and your team, who work tirelessly to support you in your endeavors. We appreciate the love and care that goes into every aspect of your ranching lifestyle, and we feel fortunate to have had a glimpse into it.

Thank you again for sharing your time, expertise, and passion with us. We hope that one day you will be able to visit us again and share more of your experiences with us.

WOW, what an incredible day! I want to extend a huge thank you to all our amazing staff and clients who participated in the 2025 Whitecourt Fun Walk/Run event! I'm beyond impressed by the determination and spirit shown by everyone.

Completing a 5km walk through our community and surrounding park trails was no small feat, but our clients CRUSHED it! Many of you have been training for months, and it's truly inspiring to see what you can achieve when you set your minds to it.

And to our incredible support staff, I'm blown away by your dedication and support. You go above and beyond every day, and it's wonderful to see you all shine in events like this.

A special shoutout to Evelyn Goldsmith for coming up with the clever "Echo Energy Express" theme - it was the perfect motivator to get us all moving! We made it to the finish line, and I'm so proud of each and every one of you.
