Goal Setting: How to Set Them & Actually Achieve Them
Setting a goal is easy.
Following through is where most people struggle.
Here’s how to set goals that actually work:
1️⃣ Be Specific (Not Vague)
“Get in shape” is a wish.
“I will train 3x per week for 45 minutes” is a goal.
The clearer the goal, the easier it is to act on.
2️⃣ Make It Realistic
Big goals are great — unrealistic ones lead to burnout.
Set goals that challenge you without overwhelming you.
Small wins build momentum.
3️⃣ Break It Down
A big goal is just a series of small actions.
Focus on what you can do today, not everything at once.
Daily habits > motivation.
4️⃣ Attach a Why
If your goal doesn’t matter to you emotionally, it won’t last.
Ask yourself: Why is this important to me right now?
Strong reasons create strong commitment.
5️⃣ Track & Adjust
Progress isn’t always linear. That’s normal.
