Today was a lovely day here at Meadowvale, full of a variety of activities for our residents.

We started the morning with a mix of games including fishing for ducks, Four in a Row, and dominoes, which got everyone engaged and having fun.

We also enjoyed a reminiscing session, looking through some favourite books from our residents’ younger days such as The Dandy, Oor Wullie, and The Beano, which sparked plenty of memories and smiles.

In the afternoon, residents from both floors came together in the conservatory for some social time. We listened and danced to music, played board games, and did a bit of colouring in. It was lovely to see everyone catching up and enjoying each other’s company

HAPPY PANCAKE DAY FROM EVERYONE AT MEADOWVALE!!!!!!!🥞🥞🥞

The day at Meadowvale kicked off with a burst of energy and laughter as residents dived into a morning of playful activities. Balloon tennis was a hit, with residents showing off their skills, gently batting balloons back and forth, filling the room with lighthearted competition and exercise. Skittles offered another avenue for friendly rivalry, as participants carefully aimed to knock down the pins, celebrating each strike with cheers and applause. 🎳🎳🎳

While some embraced the active games, others food joy in quieter pursuits. The pancake day activity booklets provided a creative outlet, with residents engaging in puzzles, word searches, and trivia all based around the beloved treat. Colouring in offered a relaxing alternative, allowing residents to express their artistic sides, adding vibrant hues to their pancake day illustrations. 🖍️🖍️🖍️

The afternoon brought a delicious turn as residents joined forces to prepare pancakes for their fellow residents. The conservatory buzzed with activity as everyone pitched in. The aroma of freshly cooked pancakes filled the air, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Finally, the day wrapped up with some one-too-one sessions, providing residents with personalised attention and care, ensuring everyone felt valued and connected. 🥞🥞🥞

Today was filled with variety, connection, and plenty of smiles across the home.

We kicked off the morning with a fun selection of games, including tabletop curling and other activities designed to support reaction times and hand-eye coordination. The room was full of laughter, friendly competition, and great engagement from our residents, it’s always lovely to see everyone cheering each other on!

This afternoon, we wrapped up warm and headed out for a refreshing walk, making it back just in time before the rain arrived. The fresh air did us the world of good and lifted spirits all around!

For the rest of the afternoon, the conservatory became a cosy hub where some residents enjoyed knitting while listening to their favourite music, a calm and comforting way to spend the day. We also spent some meaningful one-to-one time with residents who preferred a quieter pace, ensuring everyone felt included and supported in a way that suits them best. 🎶

A lovely balance of activity, fresh air, and peaceful moments shared together 💛

Yesterday at Meadowvale was filled with love as residents came together to celebrate Valentine’s Day. There was so much love in the air with dancing singing and plenty of smiles all around. Our fabulous singer Rolland Russell had everyone singing along and truly brought the loving spirit to life❤️, Earlier in the day we spent time one to one reminiscing about old memories and playing dominoes which made the celebration even more special.

Love is in the Air at Meadowvale! 💕

Today was filled with all things sweet and celebratory as we embraced the Valentine’s spirit together!

We started the day with a beautiful Valentine’s-themed high tea party. Residents enjoyed a delicious selection of freshly baked cakes lovingly prepared by our wonderful kitchen team, alongside plenty of tea, laughter, and heartfelt conversation. The room was full of warmth and smiles, the perfect way to celebrate the season of love. 🍰☕

Later on, it was time to get creative (and a little bit out of breath! 🎈). With the help of our amazing residents, we built a stunning balloon arch for tomorrow’s big celebration. Blowing up over 140 balloons was no small task, but teamwork makes the dream work, and we got there in the end! The finished display looks fantastic and has certainly added to the excitement around the home!

Just a little reminder that our Valentine’s Day Party is taking place tomorrow at 3pm ❤️

We can’t wait to celebrate with you all, hopefully we’ll see lots of you there! 💘

Today was all about slowing down and enjoying the simple pleasures.

We began our morning by “turning back the clocks” with a wonderful memorabilia session. Residents explored antique newspapers featuring significant historical events, sparking meaningful conversations, shared memories, and plenty of smiles. It’s always so special to see stories from the past bring such joy in the present.

Throughout the day, we spent some calming one-to-one time focusing on the senses, particularly smell. Residents enjoyed sampling different aftershaves during our scent testing, which brought back fond memories for many. We also created our own fragrant flowers by spraying essential oils onto artificial flowers, allowing residents to experience the scent of fresh blooms in a safe and accessible way during the winter months 🌼

Later in the afternoon, we gathered in the conservatory for a cosy and creative session of knitting and colouring, accompanied by music, tea, and biscuits. It was the perfect way to unwind together and enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed setting.

This afternoon we brought together some of the gentlemen for our very own “Gents Club”, a relaxed and sociable session filled with a few lively rounds of dominoes, great music, and of course, tea and biscuits to keep us going. There was plenty of friendly competition and even more laughter around the table!

Throughout the day, we also enjoyed some special one-to-one time. One of our residents has a real fondness for classic aftershaves, so we gathered a selection of well-loved scents from years gone by. We spent time reminiscing, chatting about favourites, and even finished off with a fun quiz all about iconic aftershaves. It certainly brought back some wonderful memories!

Later in the afternoon, things took a playful turn with an impromptu game that had everyone smiling. Residents were challenged to knock over party hats using only noisemakers, not as easy as it sounds! It was a great laugh, and everyone gave it their very best shot!

As the day wound down, some residents enjoyed playing games on the big iPad, while others settled in with a good film for a cosy end to the evening.

Another lovely day at Meadowvale, this morning we started the day off with a variety of games such as hook-a-duck, balloon tennis, and some ball games. Some of our residents do prefer their own company at times, so we had some meaningful one to one sessions throughout the day!

The afternoon some had a small workout session hosted by the lads at Burns Gym where everyone gave it their best shot. Some of our residents had a more relaxed afternoon and took part in a mini pamper session, which involved getting their nails painted!
