Our care has been recognised as Outstanding by the CQC. From our office in Blackmore we provide care at home for elderly people in Brentwood, Billericay, Upminster and surrounding villages. The office is owned and run by local Upminster man Steve Willoughby who was looking for a business opportunity which would allow him to get involved in local life and give back to his local community. His company ethos is simple, to offer the best possible care to older people in the area, as well as providing support to their family and friends. Our Care Manager will put together a person centered care package tailored to meet the needs of each individual client. We then take time to carefully match our client’s needs to the experience, interests and personality of a Care Professional to provide the best possible service. Our team of carefully selected Care Professionals are kind, compassionate and respectful of our client’s needs and homes. Our Care Professionals are fully trained and we thoroughly check their background including obtaining 6 references and a full criminal record bureau check to provide extra piece of mind. The range of services we offer is very comprehensive and a detailed list can be found on our care services page. We aim to provide the support needed for loved ones to retain their independence and remain in their own home for as long as possible. We’re happy to confirm that Home Instead Brentwood, Billericay and Upminster will be donating gifts to Brentwood Community Hospital this Christmas. Gifts will be given to wards within the hospital to bring some festive cheer to anyone spending the holiday period in hospital.

While we all enjoy the celebrations, it’s important to remember that Fireworks Night can be unsettling for some older adults and pets. Loud noises and bright flashes may cause anxiety or confusion, especially for those living with dementia.

A few small steps can make a big difference:
💜 Close curtains to soften flashes of light
💜 Turn up the TV or play calm music
💜 Offer reassurance and company during the evening
💜 Check in on neighbours or loved ones who may be alone

For many older men, opening up about their feelings or health isn’t always easy. That’s why family, friends, and community support are so important.

We see every day how small conversations can make a big difference. Our Care Professionals not only provide practical help they bring companionship, reassurance, and someone to talk to.

So this month, let’s reach out. Ask how they’re doing. Listen. Remind them that it’s okay to talk and that help is always there 💬
