Darren Humby, General Manager at Park View Care Centre in Ashford, has this week been a Judge for the National Finals of the Great British Care Awards.
As a two-time National Award winner, including in the Care Home Manager category, Darren’s selection as a judge reflects his commitment to high standards, strong leadership, and compassionate, person-centred care.
Judging at national level is a significant recognition and highlights both Darren’s contribution to the wider care sector and the culture of excellence at Park View Care Centre.

Blue Light Breakfast Drop-Off in Cambridge
This month, Claudia, Customer Relations Manager, and Mel, Head of Housekeeping, from Woodlands Care Centre in Cambridge popped along to Arbury Road Surgery, where the breakfast rolls were very warmly received by the fantastic nurses, doctors, and administrative team.
Claudia also took the opportunity to personally thank everyone at the surgery for their continued dedication, hard work, and commitment to caring for the local community. A small gesture of thanks for the incredible job you do every single day.
Every month, the Woodlands Care Centre team heads out across Cambridge delivering free breakfast parcels to local blue light and healthcare teams.

What a brilliant afternoon yesterday, celebrating the opening of the brand-new cinema room at Woodlands Care Centre 🎬
Residents, team members, and guests came together for a special ribbon-cutting moment, led by resident Denise alongside Cllr Richard Swift, Deputy Mayor of Cambridge.
The new cinema room offers a welcoming space for film afternoons, family visits, and community events — giving everyone more opportunities to enjoy time together.
Claudia Toscano, our Customer Relations Manager, shared: “The cinema room gives residents and families another place to relax together and enjoy shared moments. It’s been lovely seeing the excitement and how quickly the space has become part of daily life.”

A shared love of Arsenal Football Club led to a very special birthday moment at Romford Care Home recently.
When Tara discovered resident Tony was also a proud Gooner, she decided to reach out to Arsenal FC to see if they could help make his birthday extra memorable – and they certainly delivered!
Tony was over the moon to receive a team-signed photo, a personal letter, and an official certificate of authentication. The memorabilia is now being beautifully framed and will soon take pride of place on his wall.
It’s moments like this that show how well residents are known as individuals – their interests, passions, and what truly makes them smile. A perfect way to kick off the weekend ⚽❤️
