Welcome to The Yin Tribe: A Sanctuary for Young Minds

Life can often feel overwhelming, especially for young people navigating the pressures of school, exams, friendships, social media, and the lingering effects of the pandemic. The Yin Tribe, founded by Theatre Studio’s Artistic Director, Suzanna Segura, offers a space to relax, rest, and reset.

Designed for young people aged 11 to 21, this class is for anyone struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, or simply feeling burnt out. It’s also a welcoming space for those who just need an hour of deep rest and relaxation—a moment to step away from the noise and reconnect with themselves.
Step into Stillness
RELAX – Sink into a peaceful, candlelit space, away from the demands of daily life.

REST – Soothe your nervous system with calming breathwork and ambient sounds.

RESET – Allow yourself to fully let go, releasing tension and restoring balance.

What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a deeply meditative and grounding practice, where postures (asanas) are held for several minutes, allowing the body to soften and release. Unlike more dynamic styles of yoga, Yin invites you to surrender into stillness, encouraging deep rest and inner awareness.

For young people, this practice can be truly transformational. It provides a space to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—offering balance in a world that often feels too fast and too loud.

Why Join The Yin Tribe?

Reduces stress and anxiety – Calms the mind, slows the breath, and soothes the nervous system.
Brings balance – Encourages emotional resilience and inner peace.
Enhances focus and clarity – Helps to quiet mental chatter and improve concentration.
Creates a sacred pause – A chance to unplug from the outside world and reset from within.
Uplifts and restores – Fosters a sense of ease, positivity, and self-compassion.

In a world that constantly demands more from us, The Yin Tribe is a reminder that rest is not a luxury—it’s essential.

Breaking Free from Negative Thinking

Negative thoughts can be loud, persistent, and convincing—but they are not the truth. Just because a thought enters your mind doesn’t mean you have to believe it or let it define you.

Shift your mindset:

Notice the thought, but don’t hold onto it.
Breathe in self-compassion, exhale self-doubt.
Replace criticism with kindness, especially toward yourself.
Your mind is a powerful space—fill it with love, not limitations.

What’s one positive thought you’re embracing today?

"I open my heart to love" – This speaks to a willingness to receive and give love freely, without fear or hesitation. It encourages emotional openness, allowing love to flow both inward and outward.

"Embracing kindness" – Kindness is the bridge between self-love and love for others. By being kind to ourselves—through our thoughts, actions, and self-talk—we create space to extend that same warmth and compassion to those around us.

"And self-acceptance" – True love starts within. Accepting ourselves fully, flaws and all, allows us to show up authentically in our relationships. When we embrace who we are, we naturally offer that same acceptance to others, fostering deeper, more meaningful connections.

This intention encourages balance—honouring ourselves while extending love and kindness outward, creating a cycle of love that begins from within.

A powerful affirmation of self-empowerment and emotional well-being. Here’s a breakdown of its deeper meaning:

"I" – A personal declaration, affirming that you are the creator of your own experience.

"am" – A present-tense statement, reinforcing that this truth is valid right now, not in the past or future.

"in charge" – A reminder that you hold the power over your emotions, reactions, and mindset. You are not a victim of circumstances.

"of my own" – Emphasising personal responsibility—happiness isn’t dependent on others, external events, or material things.

"happiness" – A state of inner peace, joy, and contentment that comes from within, rather than being dictated by outside forces.

Setting a different daily intention helps focus the mind, create purpose, and cultivate positivity. It encourages self-awareness, balance, and growth, allowing you to adapt, reset, and align with your goals each day.

The phrase "I forgive myself and others easily" can be broken down into its deeper meanings:

"I" – A personal affirmation, taking ownership of your mindset and emotional well-being.
"forgive" – The act of releasing resentment, letting go of grudges, and choosing peace over anger or hurt.

"myself" – Recognising that self-forgiveness is just as important as forgiving others; releasing guilt, shame, or self-judgment.

"and others" – Extending compassion to those who may have hurt you, understanding that everyone makes mistakes and grows from them.

"easily" – A reminder that forgiveness doesn’t have to be difficult or prolonged; it can be a conscious choice to free yourself from emotional burdens.

This affirmation promotes emotional healing, inner peace, and freedom from negativity.

The Calling ...... Yin Tribe

The Yin Tribe's Founder, Suzy Segura, came to her mat over 10 years ago. From running a successful Theatre School for over 10 years, whilst maintaining a busy home life, she walked into The Yoga Studio, Cheltenham Pilates & Yoga when her daughter's friends waved at her, whilst waiting for his children yoga class to start. Her daughter joined in the lesson and whilst waiting she noticed how peaceful and quiet the studio was, the powerful sense of calm and well-being, and being nosey she decided to join in one of the adult lessons.

She became hooked, her once crowded, over thinking mind became calm and focussed during the class, and she always left with a feeling of positively and well-being - this was something that she was not used to !

After practising for another 8 years, a seed began to form in her mind, she felt she needed to expand and take the next step forward in her 'yogi life'. It was like a calling, a vocation, something that deep inside her soul told her to do.

"High on the air there is a calling
