Been a while since I’ve posted - the summer season at Lido was crazy busy and I ran more than 250 adult technical 121 lessons! - but my mind has turned to autumn 🍂 and cold water swimming. Had a lovely trip back to Lake 32 Outdoor Centre on Monday with my swimming buddy for my first cold water dip of the season. Really felt the high! 13.7° on Monday, down to 12.8° today … 🧊 🥶 ☕️ 🧁 🤿 🩵

🧊 Intro to Cold Water Swimming (1hr30mins) – Supportive small group sessions designed to gently ease you into cooler water and build your confidence for the cold-water season ahead.

* 1:1 Wetsuit Lessons: Mon 29th Sept (from 11–12:30), Wed 1st Oct (from 9:15–10:15), Sat 4th Oct (from 2–3:30)
* Cold water inductions: Fri 3rd Oct & Fri 10th Oct (10–11:30), Sat 4th Oct (4pm)

*Please note: these sessions are suitable for swimmers only – you’ll need to be confident in the water to take part.

I’m so glad to have been a part of this - friends will be able to spot me by my trademark big sunglasses and height! Qigong has been a wonderful addition to my life this year, thanks to my swim buddy Lin and the welcoming classes by Karen Soo both in Pittville Park (9-10am every Thursday by the Pump Room, free, with optional donation to the The Woodland Trust) and at the Isbourne centre.

NEW LIDO TO LAKE 2025 - OPEN FOR BOOKINGS!!

As another Cheltenham Lido cold water season draws to a close, I'm now offering my Lido to Lake sessions at the beautiful Lake 32 Outdoor Centre (just outside Cirencester) for everyone who would like to continue cold dipping in a safe environment. The next session, now open to book, is Saturday 1 March at 12 noon. NB Tow float required, but I will loan you one for the coached session. See you at the lake!
