Alison from Mind Insight is a mindfulness teacher, offering one-to-one and group courses.
She has a special interest in working with people in chronic pain, offering a blend of mindfulness teaching and pain science. She has worked with people in pain for more than 20 years, first as a chiropractor, and now focusing on mindfulness teaching. Her experience allows her to bring a unique perspective to the multi-faceted aspects of living with pain. Her experience also shows how learning mindfulness can reduce stress and tension, and restore confidence and ease.
Alison builds her courses around the attitudes of mindfulness, using meditation, exercises, stories and poetry. Her work is informed by modern pain science, neuroscience, and traditional philosophy.
She is an accredited teacher with the UK College of Mindfulness Meditation and offers courses online and in person.
Alison is also available for groups and organisations, for in-house mindfulness courses and workshops, exploring issues such as stress reduction, resilience, communication and creativity.
She now also offers Kinetic Chain Release - a body work protocol involving gentle mobilisations and stretches. It reduces joint pain and headaches, and improves strength, suppleness and flexibility.

“It gives me time and space to be myself.”
Rachel has been a full-time carer for her daughter for over 30 years — and like many carers, she’s often put her own needs second.
After feeling overwhelmed, stressed and low, Rachel joined a free Wellness Walks course at Springbank — a gentle four-week programme that gave her a moment to breathe, connect with nature, and meet others who understood her world.
From there, she joined Mindfulness for Wellbeing, Feel Good Thursdays, Art for Wellbeing, and now has more courses booked for 2024.
“Even if I only manage a few moments of mindfulness, it makes a big difference to how I cope with the day and how I feel about myself.”
Rachel’s journey is a beautiful reminder that accessible wellbeing matters — especially for those who spend so much time caring for others.
At The Isbourne, we’re proud to offer community courses, drop-ins and creative sessions that meet people where they are — with no pressure, no judgement, and always a warm welcome.
✨ If you're looking for a safe space to reconnect with yourself, we’re here.

A hub of wellbeing and spiritual development, running a variety of inspirational courses, workshops and talks
Originally founded in 1995, we remain one of the UK’s leading holistic organisations. We are committed to providing people with the tools, resources and encouragement to inspire happier, healthier and more positive lives.
The educational arm of the organisation was launched in 2014, providing holistic education with professional credibility to a wider audience. As well as developing and running a programme of Quality Endorsed and Accredited courses on a range of subjects, we also provide training for holistic practitioners to help them grow their own businesses and further their professional development.
The Isbourne boasts an impressive programme of distinguished guest speakers from across the UK (and beyond), and a packed schedule of regular classes for all ages and abilities. As a mark of quality all therapists practicing out of our therapy rooms must first be approved through an Affiliation process, and as a result we have a catalogue of over 100 recommended local practitioners offering a vast range of treatments and therapies.
We also offer a variety of services aimed at local businesses, including increasing the effectiveness of internal training and improving the wellbeing of staff. The Isbourne has a thriving outreach programme working with disadvantaged and vulnerable groups within our local community, including Gloucestershire Young Carers and the female prisoners at HMP Eastwood Park.
In addition, there are a wide variety of light and spacious rooms available to hire across the Regency terrace The Isbourne occupies, and members of the public are welcome to pop in any time to enjoy coffee, cake and lunches in our on-site café, browse our gift shop and pause for a while in our holistic library.
