If you only feel worthy when you’re busy busy busy, that’s not who you are — that’s your nervous system talking.

And it’s time to teach it a new language.

When your body feels safe just being, you stop proving and start living. You stop pushing and start receiving. You stop shrinking and start expanding.

That version of you isn’t far away and we can start building her together, one reflexology session at a time.

Do you feel like you’re stuck at full capacity?

THIS TOO IS “WELLNESS”

Sure, it’s a holiday pic dump but to me it’s so much more than that.

You see, wellness doesn’t have to be about regimes, treatments and supplements.

Wellness to me is also time away from the daily grind, momentos with treasured people, time spent in nature, soaking up culture, eating slow local foods and feasting on pretty views.

Taking the time to notice the small things that elicit joy. Time for reflection and barefoot grounding. Vitamin Sea and all that.

This is why I create retreats alongside my practice - not a promise of radical transformations or life-changing epiphanies (though these can happen!) but for the one thing you all seem to crave but feel guilt about:

TIME FOR YOURSELF

You don’t need permission or validation from anyone but yourself - it’s not selfish, it’s essential for your emotional wellbeing. Remember- a rested nervous system allows for healing to happen in the body.

📣 I’ll soon have new updates on my retreats so make sure you’re on my mailing list to hear it first!

LESS DOING, MORE BEING.

Nothing worse than being told “just relax”, right?

We’ve forgotten how to do the most basic thing - be okay with doing nothing.

Let’s get back to basics coz this cavewoman body needs stillness, connection and gentle stimulation to make happy hormones and a resilient nervous system to deal with stress.

The Vagus Nerve is a deep long wandering cranial nerve that runs from the back of the skull, through the throat, chest and fans out in the gut. Aka: the Gut Brain.

It basically controls your nervous system. Think of it as a very sensitive inner alarm network that picks up signals when things are safe or not.

Those tiny, no-big-deal everyday stresses are part of life yes but if you ignore them, let them accumulate and have a lifestyle that exacerbates them, then this creates a constant sense of danger in the body = little alarm bells 🔔

Over time, because you’ve deemed them “no-big-deal” stressors, it starts to feel normal and creates a false alarm effect, the vagus gets stuck in a “glitch”, forgetting how to switch from danger mode into safe mode.

Hello IBS, palpitations, anxiety, fat storage, hormone imbalances, poor sleep, hypervigilance, burnout = poor vagal tone.

How to fix the glitch?

Forcing a “jump start” in your body - we need to innervate and stimulate that vagus nerve using:

- Cold water therapy
- Diaphragmatic breathing
- Yin yoga
- Singing/humming/gargling
- Reflexology (it works on thousands of nerve endings!)

Remember: no amount of healthy diet, exercise or even therapy will work as effectively if your nervous system is stuck in danger mode 🆘

Let’s get your body to feel safe and homeostasis (aka the body’s natural state of balance) will do the rest. Does this resonate, are you ignoring alarm bells? 🔔

NEW BLOG POST - I get asked about this quite often so I thought I’d put it in a blog post.

No, I’m not perfect (I should exercise more) or preaching (I’m no guru nor a doctor) - im just a human trying to support my health in a gentler, more holistic way.

Link to the blog post is in my bio if you’re keen to find out what this looks like. No medical advice, hacks, or gimmicks just what works for me.

Leave a comment here once you’ve read it, I’d love to know how you approach your health?

The secret is finally out. So after much mulling over hosting my first retreat, I’ve finally found a gem of a venue and I want you there!

Why retreats? Well, the most common theme I’ve seen in my practice during 5yrs of business is women who yes want reflexology but more so they just want an hour to themselves. But why only give yourself an hour? So I wanted to find a way of extending your self care outside of my clinic walls. Instead of one hour, you’ll have days of much needed s p a c e - no forced “wellness”, just time to do whatever your soul needs.

Imagine a daily (not too early) morning yoga class on the roof terrace. You’ll have total freedom to do whatever you want: lay by the pool with a book, walk to the beach, explore the local markets (group boat trip to the Fuseta islands anyone?) Brainstorm an idea with the group. Food is a big part of the experience (the Portuguese love their food) Brunch and dinner are freshly prepared daily, served in the restaurant (and yes, you can order wine!)

Come for solo time, come for quality time with a bestie or come for connection - either way, you’ll get exactly what you need away from the shoulds and shalln’ts of the daily grind.

Full details are now on up my website with the Early Bird price until this Friday 21st March 2025!

I’m giddy with excitement and can’t wait to share this experience with you.

Com muito amor,

I champion and celebrate the amazing women in my circle all year round but today I want to take a second to celebrate me. Not a very “ladylike” thing to do but I’m resisting the stigma.

I’ve also resisted people’s advice to simply get more therapies under my belt to get more clients and grow my business…

The thing is, it would feel like me giving up on reflexology - silly I know but it’s how I feel! Plus I don’t want to be a one-stop-shop kind of holistic therapist with a menu of offerings. (No shade whatsoever on those who do this btw - this is just my own personal choice 💙)

Look, I’m no guru and probably not woo-woo enough for some (we can’t please everyone). But I do care about sharing this one therapy that literally saved me whilst recovering from neurosurgery plus all the real results my clients have achieved through regular reflexology with me.

The bespoke insights into our health from our feet(!) still BLOWS MY MIND. And the cool thing is my expertise will only improve as I age because all feet present so differently so I’m constantly learning.

If this encourages just one woman to trust her intuition and celebrate her achievements then that will make my day.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk 😆

In January I see a lot of people focusing on detoxing (supplements, diets, body brushing, etc) without giving their nervous system a second thought. But here’s a thought:

- If your nervous system is on high alert your body can’t digest or drain lymph (aka the fluid carrying your immunity cells)
- If it can’t poo or drain lymph, you can’t detox (aka toxins start to accumulate)
- When you accumulate toxins it increases inflammation (hello rashes, allergies, cold/flu, irregular periods) which then drives stress.
- Stress affects your nervous system and puts you into a sympathetic state (“fight or flight”) and the cycle starts over again…

What I am getting at? Before starting any sort of protocol, stop to notice how regulated you are first.

If you’ve been on the edge of burnout for a while then you’ll first need to focus on making your body feel safe enough to turn on your “rest and digest” parasympathetic state which will allow all those other autonomic functions work effectively.

Do something every day that makes you unfurl… this will look different for everyone so here are some of my personal favourites:

- Watching the sea or a wood burner
- listening to rain
- Yin Yoga / Yoga Nidra
- Diaphragmatic breathing
- Singing & dancing to 90s bangers
- A brisk walk in nature
- Chatting with old friends
- Watch comedy
- Take an Epsom salt bath (or sea swim)
- Petting my cats
- Getting quality sleep
- Read a good book
- Reflexology + Acupuncture (obvs)

Let me know below what you’re gonna do daily to help your nervous system?

Feeling very grateful for all the clients who have invested in me and trusted me with their wellbeing this year. I care about each and every one of you!🦶🏼

And for all the amazing small business owners I’ve conected with in the past year. Thank you for not making me feel alone and for inspiring me ✨

Im ending this year with positive health news - a trial of a third medication showed its working so my Acromegaly is finally under control 🙌🏼

This new year I want to dare to get fitter, feel stronger and to dream bigger. The intention is there but we all need help getting there. Yes, me included.

Wishing you a very happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you dare yourselves in 2025 🤎
