Our Children & Young People's Social Prescribers joined Maggie's in Cheltenham and our other lovely partners Charlie's & Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice for their Children & Family Fun Day!

We were so pleased that over 70 people attended! This special event brought together families affected by cancer for a meaningful day of connection, wellbeing, and enjoyment.

Activities ranged from arts & crafts, yoga, tai chi, massage, a visit to the fire station, a pet therapy dog and a children's entertainer. Families shared their positive experiences from the day and appreciated the 'safe place' with a 'wonderful vibe'.

We also felt the event helped to further strengthen our community bonds as we raised awareness of the social prescribing support available for everyone. Thank you for having us!

- A discussion on the definition of good cancer care from the perspective of a Consultant Clinical Oncologist.

Community volunteers will lead groups who need translation in Gujarati, Bengali and Arabic.

Together with TWNS PCN, we participated in No Child Left Behind's yesterday! It was a fantastic turn out on a sunny day where lots of families came to enjoy the free activities put on by us and many of our local partner organisations.

Our Social Prescribers facilitated an arts and crafts activity for 'Youth Culture' - decorating wooden tiles where children and young people identified something that is important to them.

Thank you to everyone involved for another successful event this summer! See you again next year. :D

It's always a highlight of our summer to participate in Springbank Community Group CiC 's Family Fun Day! 🥳

Our nurses were there to spread the word about vaccines & immunisations, specifically the childhood ones. And our social prescribing link workers got out their crafty supplies for children to make seagulls and practiced some mindfulness with beach-themed colouring sheets.

Yesterday's event was well attended and we were given positive feedback from all the families who stopped by to see us. Thank you! 🫶
