On Tuesday night we held 'Advances in Treating Knee Pain' with Orthopaedic Knee Consultant Mr Dodds. There was a strong focus around the robotic assisted knee replacement, and we even got to showcase it in person.🤖There was lots of interest around how this improves surgical outcomes and patient recovery. We've already had a consultation booked since Tuesday night and hopefully more to come! Another great turn out and successful event.😊

Yesterday we celebrated World Physiotherapy Day.💚

A day to thank the department for their hard work and dedication, helping our patients get fitter, stronger and regaining their independence and confidence.

From patients undergoing rehab before & after surgery, to patients with sports injuries and general body pain that they can’t shift, these guys have a wealth of knowledge to help treat your condition.💪🏼

October marks the start of Breast Cancer awareness month🩷

We are raising awareness for checking your breasts and knowing the early signs of breast cancer.

🗓️Join us for a free event “Breast Check Confidence: how to and what to look for” with Breast Care consultant Miss Court taking place on Tuesday 7th October AND Tuesday 28th October at 18:30.

Please note the event on Tuesday 7th October takes place at the fitness and wellbeing centre, Gloucester and the event taking place on Tuesday 28th October takes place at the Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital.

Last Friday, Cheltenham Hospital took on a charity bike ride in support of one of our colleagues Simon, from theatres, who is raising money for the Cheltenham and Gloucester NHS ICU.💙 This Saturday, Simon takes on a 69 mile bike ride around the Cotswolds, with a team of doctors, ODP’s and nurses. On Friday Simon cycled the complete route as a warm up, and between staff we also rode 69 miles to support Simon, and raise funds for the NHS ICU🚴💚💪🏼

September is Sepsis Awareness Month.❤️

We are spreading awareness for knowing the signs. It’s all about time! Every hour left untreated increases your risk of death by 4-9%.

While sepsis is more likely to affect young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and/or weakened immune systems, it can still affect people of all ages and health.

Get to know the signs and save a life:

T: Temperature – higher or lower than normal
I: Infection – symptoms of an infection – chills, shivering, headache
M: Mental decline – confusion, sleepy or difficult to rouse
E: Extremely ill – severe pain, discomfort and shortness of breath

Behind the scenes 🎥

We had a busy few days last week at the hospital, as we let the cameras in to shoot some video content.

We are excited to take you on a journey beyond the doors of our hospital as we showcase who we are, the services we offer, including our finance options and price promise, our fast access to diagnostics and appointments, as well as an exclusive look into our Velys robotic surgery.

A huge thank you to all staff members who willingly put themselves forward to be involved in the filming. We are excited to share the finished videos with you over the coming months.
