At Keith Holland, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional patient care with a personal touch, and we’re looking for an experienced Optical Assistant to join our growing team.
The Role
This is not a volume-driven environment. You will have:
• 60-minute dispensing appointments
• 30-minute collection & adjustment appointments
• Your own dispensing diary
• Close 1:1 collaboration with our Optometrists
• The opportunity to see patients from initial dispense through to final adjustments
Clinical & Technical Expertise Required
You must be confident and experienced in:
• All aspects of dispensing:
o Single vision, bifocals & multifocals
o Occupational lenses
o High prescriptions & complex cases
o Myopia management
o Task analysis & lifestyle dispensing
• Frame fitting with meticulous attention to detail
• Understanding patient tolerance levels and troubleshooting adaptation issues
• Accurate and compliant record keeping
While these skills are desirable, we welcome applicants without them as comprehensive training is offered:
• Contact lens teaches
• Paediatric dispensing
• Spectacle verification & quality control
• Rimless, supra & complex frame repairs
• Spring hinge and detailed mechanical repairs
• Navigating multiple supplier ordering systems
What We’re Looking For
You are:
• Experienced (minimum 5 years in optical dispensing)
• Technically strong and clinically confident
• Meticulous with detail and accuracy
• Organised and efficient
• A clear communicator with patients, colleagues, and suppliers
